Through this 41-month project, the NB Women’s Equality Branch, in collaboration with the Atlantic Domestic Homicide Network (ADHRN), will partner with the Canadian Femicide Observatory for Justice and Accountability to examine domestic homicide data and trends in the Atlantic provinces over a 10-year retrospective period.

This 12-month project, a phase 2 of the project SO20145, will strengthen the capacity and networks of OUTniagara Community Network for Sexual and Gender Diversity to advance 2SLGBTQ+ equality. This will be achieved by enhancing organizational health and
sustainability through developing funding and communications strategies and conflict resolution policies; building the skills and capacity of community partners; strengthening networks, collaborations and partnerships; and fostering and strengthening meaningful, authentic, and sustained relationships with local QTBIPOC communities and organizations.

At the end of the project, the organization will have developed its organizational capacity and sustainability, increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression; and established and strengthened partnerships and collaborations to support the 2SLGBTQ+ movement.

This 24-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19 through systemic change. Shelter Movers will achieve this by researching the processes and treatment that survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) experience in judicial systems and in accessing social support services, developing recommendations to end practices and policies that discriminate and retraumatize, and creating a coalition to share information and advocate for changes to legislation, judicial practices and support services. The project will also focus on identifying additional systemic challenges faced by survivors fleeing abuse in rural and remote areas, and test recommendations for changes to support service organizations’ practices in these areas.

At the end of the project Shelter Movers will have contributed to reducing systemic barriers by developing and testing recommendations to improve services for GBV survivors, and by building an advocacy coalition that will continue to work towards improving supports and services for GBV survivors.

This 24-month project will identify, develop, and implement trauma-informed best practice guidelines and related training materials for local police working with street-level sex workers.

This 24-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Terrace Women’s Resource Centre Society will achieve this by developing an advisory board, conducting a survey and focus groups among racialized women and girls, developing a Recovery Action Plan and disseminating this plan among political leaders and stakeholders.

At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices and supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power to support women’s equality.This project will encourage more effective and equitable resource sharing by establishing partnerships and services that advance gender equity and develop a regional network inclusive of gender-diverse women from all demographics that will lead towards recovery from the impacts of COVID 19.
