About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding for the construction of a new police detachment in the Listuguj community as the existing detachment is too small, landlocked between a early childhood care center, the elementary school, the band council and Health center and no longer meets current health and safety standards.

The project consists of building a new police detachment in the Listuguj community as the existing detachment is too small, is landlocked between a early childhood care center, the elementary school, the band council and Health center, and no longer meets current health and safety standards. It will be designed in accordance with the National Building Code and provincial policing standards and will be led by qualified professionals. The project assessment, made by regional PS officers and Quebec representatives, concluded that the cost of the project is reasonable in relation to the cost of similar facilities in Québec, the surface area, the remoteness of the location and the capacity of the community to implement this project. The council appointed Mr. Bassem Abdrabou, Engineer and General Manager for the community, as Project Manager for this project. Mr. Abdrabou has shown a great expertise.

Using AstroSat Imaging to Quantify Stellar Feedback in PHANGS Galaxies

Following the AstroSat Funding Offer 2021 sent to eligible researchers on October 18th 2021, the CSA is providing funding via a Grant Agreement to the university to conduct research with AstroSat data. This project will use UVIT data to map newly forming stars and their disruptive effect on star-forming dust clouds in a sample of nearby galaxies studied by the PHANGS (Physics at High Angular resolution in Nearby GalaxieS) collaboration.

Following the JWST ERS and Cycle 1 GO Announcement of Opportunity published on June 14, 2021, the CSA is providing funding via a Grant Agreement to the university to conduct research using the JWST.
This project will advance our knowledge of binary neutron star (NS) mergers and gravitational waves by answering the following questions: What fraction of the heaviest elements come from NS mergers? What are the progenitors of BNS systems? How fast is the Universe expanding? Researchers will use NIRSpec, NIRCam and MIRI aboard the JWST to observe an electromagnetic counterpart to a gravitational wave source within the first 30 days post-explosion.

ASTROSAT data analysis: multi-wavelength studies of M31, NGC205 and Hercules X-1
