This program will connect Canadian SMEs in the bioproducts sector with a Canadian service provider who will help accelerate the commercialization of their innovative products and processes.

Open Ocean Robotics will architect and design the naval architecture, hybrid solar-diesel energy integration, and autonomy control framework for a new Arctic-capable self-righting uncrewed surface vehicle (USV) platform optimized for defence, security, and maritime safety operations in Arctic and northern waters.

In this project NRC will characterize the frictional drag of the Copsys Intelligent Digital Skin coating by conducting flat-plate towing tests in the NRC OCRE’s Clear Water Towing Tank.

The Project will support pilot testing of AI strategies, determine target architecture and quantitative technical objectives for implementation of an AI solution. The Project will focus on the development of an MVP for AI-based seismic facies analysis using multi-attribute classification. The pilot will evaluate selected AI strategies for classifying seismic facies from seismic attribute data and will support BFI Energy Group Inc. in determining the most suitable architecture, performance targets, and business case for a future AI implementation project.

Accelerate the development and deployment of innovative agricultural automation solutions.

Bonocle Tech Inc. is developing two enhancements to its braille education platform. First, a multi-user classroom mode for BoDesk and BoQuest that enables teachers and students to participate in shared braille learning activities within a single-device environment, reducing hardware barriers in schools and group learning settings. Second, an AI-powered adaptive learning engine for BoQuest that personalizes content delivery for adult learners, adjusting curriculum sequencing and difficulty based on individual progress — enabling fully guided, self-paced braille literacy without a teacher present.

This project researches an AI-driven adaptive learning system that ingests unstructured content, organizes it into a structured knowledge graph of interconnected concepts, and delivers personalized learning experiences.

The project will improve system scalability, automate academic workflows, and strengthen secure data integration to better support medical schools and professional programs. Work will include backend service development, user-interface enhancements, and quality-assurance processes. The project will also provide early-career employment and technical training for a woman in software engineering, supporting increased diversity in Canada’s technology workforce.

This project will develop an Operational System Intelligence platform for energy infrastructure that materializes and explains operational relationships driving real-world outcomes. The innovation applies relationship-oriented data models, spatial analytics, and explainable AI/ML to link assets, regulations, and external conditions at scale, addressing technical uncertainty. Building on an SaaS platform and internal R&D, the system identifies risk triggers and obligated actions as conditions change. A core use case is detecting urban encroachment near energy infrastructure to support CSA Z662 regulatory actions, improving compliance, risk mitigation, and infrastructure management.

The project focuses on building internal development capacity for the organization’s existing configurators and online ordering process. In addition, it includes implementing order integration into the ERP system to help manage the increasing demand on sales teams and prepare the configurator and order flows for future agentic AI utilization.
