The Canada Graduate Scholarships – Michael Smith Foreign Study Supplements (CGS-MSFSS) Program supports high-calibre Canadian graduate students in building global linkages and international networks through the pursuit of exceptional research experiences at research institutions abroad. By accessing international scientific research and training, CGS-MSFSS recipients will contribute to strengthening the potential for collaboration between Canadian and foreign institutions.

The NSERC Postgraduate Scholarships-Doctoral Program (PGS D) provides financial support to high calibre scholars who are engaged in a doctoral program in the natural sciences or engineering. This support allows these scholars to fully concentrate on their studies and seek out the best research mentors in their chosen fields.

By accessing international scientific research and training, CGS-MSFSS recipients will contribute to strengthening the potential for collaboration between Canadian and foreign institutions.

The objective of this Project is to assist in the protection of our natural resources through the scaling up of forest and landscape restoration, enabling inclusive landscape governance and equipping the next generation of forest leaders.

This proposed CTO contribution will give some innovation focused Canadian SME's access to construction industry experts and influencers, that can serve as both a potential target customer segment, and that can provide active feedback for further innovation.  Additionally, Canadian construction firms can benefit by exposure to new technologies that may impact increases in profitability, better efficiency, greater safety and many other areas for potential innovation.

Last year, we expanded the number of firms supported from 3 to 5, with all presenting at the CCA AGM in Quebec City in March 2025.

This year, we are proceeding with support for 5 SME's, and in addition to the AGM, adding a second presentation event at Construct Canada in Toronto in December 2025.

This project focuses on the formulation, stability, and market validation of our novel natural compound, KCB-100, to enable its use as a functional ingredient in commercial beverages. In partnership with Niagara College's Food & Beverage Innovation Centre, we will conduct studies to develop a stable, soluble formulation. The outcome will be a scientifically-backed, de-risked ingredient package for commercial partners, addressing consumer demand for evidence-based wellness products.

This project will develop smart return infrastructure with advertising capabilities and achieving outdoor safety certification, the solution will drive greater return, enable new revenue streams, and support widespread deployment across varied environments.

Oolu is developing a data-driven digital platform that connects high-growth companies with experienced fractional executive talent. This project involves product roadmap development based on user research, including behavioral analytics and pricing experiments. The end-goal is to refine product-market fit and build a scalable, insight-driven platform with enhanced user experience, in order to increase customer retention, and tech-enable accelerated commercialization.
