About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Clan Mother Lived Experience Outreach Project

This 27-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Clan Mothers Turtle Lodge Inc will achieve this by developing and delivering a national awareness campaign and a training program for resource extraction and construction workers in order to prevent and address gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and sex trafficking facing Indigenous women, girls, 2Spirit and trans people within Indigenous communities across the country. A national advocacy network composed of leaders from across the country and a strategic plan will also be established to support the achievement of these objectives.
At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by the following three elements: advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, and addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes, all to support women’s equality.

Taking Action in Advancing Reconciliation – Indigenous Women and Girls Gender Equality, Prosperity and Safety

Acadia First Nation will achieve this by developing policies, procedures and practices, seeking Elder’s grassroots input and guidance through community-based approaches, developing prevention strategies and conducting education workshops and training, establishing relationships and partnerships to advance gender equality and submitting a final report with recommendations and developing a path forward.
At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by advancing inclusive policies and practices, increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change, addressing persistent harmful gender norms and attitudes and supporting positive distribution of authority, voices, and decision-making power to support women’s equality.
