GoFleet will develop a comprehensive asset tracking solution that combines our current Trax platform for indoor asset tracking and our automated outdoor fleet management solutions. With new functionalities and greater interoperability with IoT, the proposed solution will be the first-in-world all-in-one asset tracking solution that enables continuous management and tracking of assets from vehicle to indoor to outdoor and vice versa, for various industries including construction and critical operations such as hospitals.

Reporting to the CEO, the Strategic Finance Associate role is a full-time employment opportunity that will involve a range of development and operational financial responsibilities. The focus of the role will be to develop models and inform strategic decision-making to maximize the profitability of the company. Core responsibilities include the development of a financial framework for the technology ecosystem as well as undertaking general financial planning and analysis activity. The role will also provide reports of financial and business key performance indicators to internal and external stakeholders.

This applied research project goal is to design and build a complex optomechanical system assembly to be used in the Gemini Planet Imager facility calibration subsystem instrument. The main challenge is to minimize the relative displacement between two optical components during observation. The relative movement is in the order of 0.0005° while in operation.

MTH developed and Axle Part Number configurator through the company website. The next level of automation will take data from the configurator and automatically create the Bill of Materials for the axle assembly within the ERP System.

Nix Sensor Ltd. is developing a physical 4mm diameter positioning and aperture adapter to modify and upgrade their handheld, portable spectrophotometer for the print and packaging industry. This adapter will allow users to accurately and consistently measure coloured “control patches” that are widely used to maintain quality control on many printed goods.

FutureVault is a digital platform that provides users with robust tools for storing and managing their most important information in the cloud. This project will implement new technologies that enable organizations to more readily implement and customize the software without the need for extensive engineering support.

To establish monitoring and data collection from 4 machines. This data will be used to help with machine utilization and uptime, as well as tool cost allocation. During this time, we would like to prototype an in-house solution on 1 additional machine as a proof of concept to prevent restrictions on data structuring

Research activities to characterize and improve internal business processes related to marketing conversion rates

The project aims to combine the field sampling and analytical capabilities at the Ocean Wise Plastics Laboratory with research expertise at the NRC to develop data standardization, fate and transport modeling, and decision-making tools to combat microplastic pollution. Estimates of microplastic abundance, along with physical and chemical characterization at representative sites in urban coastal waters of the Salish Sea will be combined with predictive modeling to understand which environments are most at risk from microplastic accumulation and “hot spots”. The project also aims to work with international partners to promote adoption of standard practices for analysis and reporting of environmental microplastic data. Building on existing work on chemical weathering of common polymer materials, this project will inform on generation pathways for nanoplastics, a newly identified contaminant of concern.

The purpose of this CanExport SMEs agreement is to support small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) for activities related to export market development that are part of an export business case for a specific target market, particularly where activities are targeting departmental priority markets and sectors.
