Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Peacebuilding in Sri Lanka through mine clearance and reintegration of a vulnerable workforce
7430469 P010072001
The peace that followed a long and deadly civil war in Sri Lanka is fragile, and conflict over ethno-religious divides is rising. Explosive remnants of war remain in the northeast region of Sri Lanka and impact vulnerable and marginalized groups. This project uses an integrated mine action response to release land to communities. It uses vocational training to increase the capacity of de-miners at the end of the project. Both activities aim to decrease social tensions and divides by transitioning and integrating the most marginalized into the workforce.

Inventory to share an exceptional heritage: the audiovisual heritage of the Augustines of Canada
2122-0015
The project consists of developing an inventory chart template and completing the inventory of the 4,785 audiovisual records kept at the Centre d’archives du Monastère des Augustines. This rich heritage focusses mainly on the traditions and practices of this historic female religious community. Most of these documents were created in the 20th Century. They relate the Augustinians’ daily history, including their customs, nursing practices, know-how, etc. The formats vary, including 8mm and 16mm films, audio cassettes, CD-ROMs, videocassettes, MP4 files, etc. A significant portion of this corpus has never been indexed or described. Archivists and researchers are therefore unaware of what these documents contain.
