The first supplement will be used to reduce the impact of COVID-19 limitations on the project by enabling the organization to implement renewed strategic planning and crisis management training.

The first supplemental funding was used to further build National Association of Women and the Law’s capacity to strengthen its fundraising and diversify its funding base, while adapting to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic and a transition period for National Association of Women and the Law (NAWL).

The first supplemental funding will be used to mitigate the impact that COVID-19 restrictions have had on the project by allowing the organization to pivot planned in-person workshops and training to online and meet the project objectives of increasing the number of young women leaders within corporations and to increase the quantity and quality of leadership opportunities available for young women leaders.

Project activities include: (1) constructing or rehabilitating water points, benefiting up to 5,000 people; (2) distributing cash-for-work to up to 4,200 beneficiaries for work on small community projects, and providing unconditional cash assistance to up to 434 vulnerable people; (3) provide small pre-vaccinated ruminants to rebuild the livestock of up to 1,000 households; (4) building the capacity of up to 1,000 women and girls to manage income generating activities and resources such as land, water and pasture; and (5) distributing dignity kits for women and girls, which contain items required to maintain feminine hygiene, dignity and respect in their daily lives, benefiting up to 1,000 women and girls.

The organization received supplemental funding during the Covid-19 pandemic for an anti-racism audit, as well as the shift to an electronic client management database for increased internal efficiency and analytics.

Canada Arts Presentation Fund

The objective of this project is to actively promote and protect the brand reputation of North American ginseng, essential in establishing brand trust and recognition, and educating consumers. The project includes activities such as incoming and outgoing missions, trade shows, advertising and promotion, and market research.

The organization received supplemental funding during the Covid-19 pandemic to hire external specialists to perform a community needs assessment, assist with the development of a long-term financial plan and technical support to roll out a full technology plan for staff.

The 2023 supplemental funding will be used to review, revise, and update the sustainable strategic plan and the fundraising strategy based on lessons learned and changes made during the COVID 19 Pandemic. An organizational advocacy plan will be developed to address the increased need for services and seek stakeholder support or investment in WSN/community-based sexual assault services.

P006331002: In order to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, the proposed amendment will enable the Organization to implement a hygiene behaviour change response aimed at slowing the transmission of the virus. The COVID-19 response efforts of HerWASH include promotion and awareness of improved hygiene behaviour in healthcare facilities and communities and of good menstrual hygiene practices among women and girls in support of the project’s SRHR goals and results.
