Enabling Access to Graphical Image Content Published via the Internet for People Who Are Blind, Deaf-Blind or Visually Impaired

The purpose of the Canada Nature Fund Contribution Program is to carry out the Government of Canada's 2018 Nature Legacy for Canada, which includes supporting and leveraging efforts to protect and recover aquatic species at risk; building Indigenous capacity; and implementing the Habitat Stewardship Program (HSP) for aquatic species at risk.

To support the participation of Indigenous communities in consultations on Departmental Crown conduct (i.e., authorizations and permits) under the Fisheries Act and Species at Risk Act.

The purpose of the Small Craft Harbours Class Contribution Program (SCH-CCP) is to support the acquisition, development, construction, improvement or repair as well as the management, maintenance, safety and accessibility of eligible fishing and recreational harbours.

To encourage scientific research and related scientific activities (e.g., data collection, integration, monitoring, and communication, including communication via conferences and symposia) and dissemination of scientific knowledge in the areas of:(a) Fisheries and Aquaculture Science;(b) Ecosystem Science;(c) Oceanography and Modelling; and(d) Freshwater Science.

This project aims to enhance Somalia’s capacity to implement sound macroeconomic policies, which in turn helps Somalia reach debt relief and finance its’ national development plan, laying the foundations for reduced poverty and inclusive development. This project builds on the gains achieved and lessons learned during Phase I of the Somalia Country Fund.
This project provides capacity development to the federal Government of Somalia in five areas: (1) macroeconomic frameworks and policies; (2) central bank management and operations; (3) tax and customs policy modernization; (4) public financial management, including investment and debt management and gender-based budget analysis; and (5) production and dissemination of macroeconomic data, including sex-disaggregated data. This project works to deliver capacity development via a combination of virtual seminars, short-term expert visits, technical assistance missions, peer-to-peer learning, trainings in “third-country” locations, on-line webinars and courses, and mentorships.

This project aims to reduce rural poverty and enhance inclusion towards post-conflict stability in central Sofala. This project seeks to improve health and education services, advance local economic opportunities, and strengthen participatory governance in the Gorongosa National Park (GNP) and its buffer zone, with special attention to women and girls. Project activities include: (1) improving reading and life skills for girls through support to girls’ clubs; (2) providing skills training to women smallholders on good agronomic practices and climate-smart techniques for essential food and cash crops (cashew and honey); and (3) establishing Women’s Development Committees to promote greater participation of women in community decision-making.

P008064001: This project aims to change social norms in families, communities, and schools, and improve the delivery of government services to reduce incidents of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) experienced by girls and young women, between the ages of 10 and 24, in Nampula province of Mozambique. Project activities include: (1) providing information to girls and young women on gender equality and rights, alternatives to early marriage, harmful traditional practices, and initiation rites, as well as on sexual reproductive health and rights and SGBV services; (2) engaging with men and boys to change attitudes on gender equality and support local and community-based women’s organizations to engage initiation matrons, women leaders and caregivers in dialogue on the protection of girls’ rights; and (3) providing training to teachers and school staff and encouraging dialogue between parents, students, teachers, and school leadership to empower girls and eliminate SGBV based at school.

P008064002: This project funds activities to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic in Mozambique. Project activities include: (1) raising awareness on good practices to prevent the spread of COVID-19 by translating material into Portuguese and disseminating it via community radio, television and social media; (2) orienting community health workers on the implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for women and girls; (3) supporting local health facilities by providing protective equipment to contain the spread of COVID-19; and (4) helping vulnerable girls and women and their families meet their essential needs, such as covering transportation cost to health clinics.
