SPF’s objective will be achieved by functioning as an innovative, partnership-driven complement to the Indigenous Skills and Employment Training Strategy (ISETS) that fosters more integrated, harmonized, training-to-employment models or acts as a catalyst for the formation and testing of innovative new partnerships in Indigenous labour market development. SPF activities will emphasize joint stewardship and coordination consistent with the Aboriginal Economic Development Framework. Through access to SPF funding, a wider range of Indigenous organizations will deliver Indigenous labour market programming, serving to embed collaboration and maximize leveraging opportunities with industry, federal-provincial-territorial partners, and Indigenous partners

Teledyne Optech proposes a 3 dimensional (3D) Imaging Lidar System that provides a real-time infrared image with depth information for each pixel. This system can potentially enable spacecraft to handle complex tasks, such as scanning for suitable landing/docking locations, by producing an instantaneous 3D model of the target area without further processing or trajectory information.

This project builds on technology previously developed by Teledyne Optech under the CSA program AO 5.4 Industrial Capability-Building Contribution. This proposed project aims to optimize performance and capabilities, moving from a breadboard to a testable prototype.

The resulting product has the potential to be commercialized for terrestrial applications such as autonomous systems, emergency response, and real-time mapping systems. Furthermore, it can potentially enhance Canadian capabilities in space proximity operations by generating instant and rapidly updated 3D models of celestial objects and space environments.

GALAXIA’s MÖBIUS Satellite Constellation is the first pay-per-use Earth Observation (EO) platform. This constellation of software defined nanosatellites will enable businesses of any size to avoid the obstacles of entering the space sector by offering an intelligent and adaptable satellite service at a reasonable cost.

The MÖBIUS Constellation will host an array of powerful and versatile space sensors on a shared-access basis. The highly configurable system allows platform users to deploy, scale, and modify proprietary software on the constellation while in orbit. Advanced edge compute technology enables sensor data to be acquired and processed in real-time, preventing data delivery delays for the end-user. The pay-per-use pricing model creates an affordable EO solution which ensures that customers only pay for what they use.

The proposed technology demonstration aims to launch a binary mission consisting of a single hub and spoke in order to demonstrate and test the capabilities of the hub and spoke relationship aspect of the MÖBIUS constellation in space. The technology demonstration will help GALAXIA to push the limits of MÖBIUS Software Defined Satellites. GALAXIA will further work with its industry and government partners, both from Canada and abroad, to fly their solutions onboard MÖBIUS in space. GALAXIA has a vast and growing portfolio of industry and government partners from energy to aquaculture to ocean and defence that are working with us to develop powerful applications and demonstrate them during this mission.

This grant supports Hul'q'umi'num' Lands and Resources Society’s participation in the Minister’s Round Table where Elders and knowledge keepers share their perspective of the Sea Gardens project, lessons learned and things that are working well. It also supports the involvement in meetings for the Sea Gardens restoration with other First Nations and Parks Canada.

The objective of the proposed project is to advance the concept of an innovative miniaturized instrument, which uses a novel measurement concept for high spatial resolution and high sensitivity satellite-based methane monitoring. The precision of the methane column density measurement is expected to be up to two times better than current technologies, thereby significantly advancing the state of the art in satellite remote sensing of methane. Furthermore, the proposed instrument will have several practical advantages over current technologies including simplified design, reduced manufacturing cost, and increased operational flexibility. Benefits to Canada include the direct application of space technology to fight climate change. The technology is not only applicable for GHGSat’s next generation constellation, but also for hosted payload opportunities and potentially other commercial and governmental Earth observation missions. This instrument concept will help ensure continued leadership of Canada in high-resolution monitoring of greenhouse gas emissions at individual industrial facilities from space.

The objective of this Project is to enhance disaster response capacity and coordination, foster the development of new capabilities, and to increase capacity to prepare for and respond to wildfires in Chile. The Government of Chile declared a state of emergency in the regions of Araucanía, Ñuble and Biobio due to wildfires and has requested international assistance. Countries are increasingly dependent on each other to provide mutual aid during wildfire emergencies, with Canada requiring support from international partners in most years. It is important that Canada assist other countries in their times of need also, to sustain this system of reciprocal assistance. In assisting Chile, Canada contributes to increasing its own resilience to natural disasters such as wildfires by ensuring the global community is equipped and ready to assist us.

The purposes of the agreement are to promote a desire to learn more about the natural environment and equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to apply the basic principles and practices of resource management and ecology to complex environmental issues.
