The project will include governance training for the Board of Directors, development of evaluation tools, diversification of revenue strategies, improving social media presence, and strategic planning. This project will ensure Inuit∕Inuvialuit women in the Nunakput region move toward greater political, social, and economic equality.

The project will achieve this by 1) training and mentoring racialized newcomer/immigrant women to become Feminist Leaders; 2) mobilizing racialized newcomer and immigrant women and their allies to identify barriers to employment and develop strategies to address employment inequalities; 3) developing a social media campaign to raise public awareness; and 4) facilitating dialogue with Members of Parliament, Members of Provincial Government and employers to advocate for policy changes that enhance economic security for racialized newcomer and immigrant women.

Through this 20-month project, Informed Opinions aims to expand their Amplifying Women’s Voices in Media and Creating Parity in Politics initiative. The project will increase the representation of women and gender-diverse individuals in media and political leadership roles. Key goals include integrating 800 new sources from underrepresented fields and identities into their database, and gaining 400 new journalist subscribers.

Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage - Local Arts and Heritage Festivals

Media and information literacy campaign to improve information consciousness and civic engagement among rural/peri-urban communities in the 2024 general elections.

This grant is Canada's long-term institutional support for the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie (OIF). The OIF uses these funds, as well as those of other donors, to carry out its mandate. The OIF's mandate includes: (1) the promotion of the French language and cultural and linguistic diversity; (2) the promotion of peace, democracy and human rights; (3) support for education, training, higher education and research; and (4) the promotion of sustainable economic development and solidarity. The OIF aims to incorporate the transversal axes of youth and gender equality into the implementation of its strategic objectives. The OIF conducts its activities with other institutions of La Francophonie, civil society and national, international and multilateral organizations. It delivers its programming through advocacy, project funding, technical assistance, training, awareness-raising and the dissemination of knowledge in French. Through its Strategic Framework 2015-2022, the OIF aims to place the action of La Francophonie in the international context of the fight against poverty and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Canada's support for OIF programming contributes, in particular, to the enhancement of the French language in a context of linguistic and cultural diversity, the strengthening of democratic governance and the rule of law among its members, the strengthening of access for all children to quality education and training, and the development of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
