Well Engineered will use project funding for several new initiatives that will increase the team's engagement in the Canadian Defense Industry.

This project will advance the defence readiness of the firm by establishing defence market opportunities, clarifying procurement processes, and executing MIL-STD-810 environmental qualification testing directly relevant to defence platforms and missions.

This project will assess the defence readiness of a Canadian-developed digital identity documentation system designed to support traceability and accountability in complex operational environments. The work will examine the technical, operational, and regulatory requirements needed to adapt the technology for defence applications. Activities will include analysis of defence operational needs, system architecture considerations, security and compliance requirements, and potential procurement pathways. The project will produce a defence readiness roadmap outlining the steps required to align the technology with defence sector requirements and future evaluation opportunities.

This project will evaluate AI-enabled counter-UAV technologies designed to detect and track unauthorized drones in sensitive airspace. The work will assess sensing approaches combining radar and optical systems with artificial intelligence to improve identification and monitoring of drone activity. The project will also explore the use of unmanned aerial platforms to extend detection coverage and support counter-UAV operations. Outcomes will help advance technologies that support defence, public safety, and critical infrastructure protection while strengthening Canada’s capabilities in autonomous systems and aerospace innovation.

Ambico will explore the development of a combined radio frequency (RF)-shielded and oversized door assembly to support secure and resilient infrastructure at Canadian defence facilities.

Engage in exploratory activities aimed at advancing applications in the defence sector to better understand operational requirements and validation pathways. These activities will position the company to refine its value proposition for military adoption and inform future technical development aligned with NATO operational needs.

This project’s purpose will be to research and develop a plan to elevate Port’s Quality Management System and all other relevant systems to a level that allows inclusion in defence industry contracts.

This project will prepare Armada Toolworks Ltd to supply Canadian-made components for defence applications under Canada’s Buy Canadian policy.

This project will explore defence and dual-use applications for WaveNexus, a modular wave energy buoy system designed to provide resilient, distributed power in coastal and maritime environments. Activities will focus on understanding defence procurement pathways, identifying operational requirements for defence energy systems, and evaluating how modular wave energy technologies can support remote monitoring infrastructure and maritime sensing systems. The project will assess technical adaptations, regulatory considerations, and commercialization.

Develop a rugged computational platform for mission critical operations for on board operation of sensory data fusion, real time analysis, real time communication and decision making. The project aims to produce a Canadian-designed, manufactured, maintained, and owned computing platform for mission-critical operations.
