Grants and Contributions

The CIHR Institute of Gender and Health (CIHR-IGH) will fund applications that are relevant to its mandate and research priorities, as described in our new Research Priority Plan, and that are aligned with at least one of the following research areas.

Examples include, but are not limited to:
o one developmental period before and after age 18, or
o different developmental periods across generations (e.g. biological parent and fetus or offspring), or
o two (2) developmental periods in females related to puberty, child-bearing age and menopause.
• Sex and gender consideration should be integrated as appropriate.

o best practices in knowledge mobilization and implementation science;
o diverse career options and opportunities available across the different sectors (academia, private/for profit, public and not-for-profit); and
o approaches to advance rigorous and responsible research (e.g., product development from discovery to commercialization; best practices in clinical trial design, recruitment, conduct and reporting; sex- and gender-based analysis plus [SGBA+]; (WSC: additionalinformation) research data management, research involving key populations including Indigenous Peoples, ethics, unconscious bias, life cycle/life stage approaches to clinical trials)

Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME) is a chronic, complex, multisystem illness associated with immunological, neurological, autonomic and energy metabolism dysfunction, and symptoms can include debilitating fatigue, post-exertional malaise, unrefreshing sleep, cognitive impairment and orthostatic intolerance. Sex and gender-related factors influence the risk, diagnosis, severity, and consequences of ME, with women disproportionately more likely to be affected.

The CIHR Institute of Gender and Health (CIHR-IGH) will fund applications that are relevant to its mandate and research priorities, as described in our new Research Priority Plan, and that are aligned with at least one of the following research areas.

This project includes providing individual counselling, public education, and outreach activities tailored to those impacted by sexual misconduct. To maximize accessibility, programming will be delivered through a wide range of formats including in-person, phone, virtual, and direct outreach. This centre will leverage its expertise and knowledge regarding sexual violence to educate, support, liaise and advocate for those harmed and impacted by sexual misconduct. They also provide services in English and French.
