This project aims to reduce poverty and improve food security for vulnerable communities in arid and semi-arid regions of Iraq, particularly in the governorates of Anbar, Najaf, Nineveh, Muthanna, and Sulaymaniyah, through sustainable land and resource management. Project activities include: 1) planting trees to restore ecosystems; 2) fixing sand dunes to prevent soil degradation; 3) introducing climate-smart agricultural practices; 4) training local actors in sustainable land management; 5) creating market access opportunities to strengthen the economic stability of smallholder farmers. The project directly targets 7,000 beneficiaries through improved agricultural practices, market access, and sustainable livelihoods. It also indirectly benefits 42,000 family and community members by strengthening community resilience to climate change and promoting sustainable livelihoods.

This project aims to support the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in their final push to eradicate the wild poliovirus (WPV) in Afghanistan, one of only 2 remaining polio endemic countries (the other being Pakistan) by 2027. A significant number of Afghan children remain unvaccinated, and this project aims to increase polio vaccine campaign activities for Afghan children under the age of 5. Project (WHO) activities include: (1) coordinating operations and conducting research, analysis, monitoring and evaluation; (2) providing technical and operational support for campaign administrators; (3) coordinating the training and deployment of human resources for supplementary technical assistance; and (4) securing logistics to access hard-to-reach areas. This project aims to advance peacebuilding efforts in Sri Lanka. It contributes to the Peacebuilding Window of the United Nations Sri Lanka Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Fund. This is a multi-partner pooled Fund that aims to unlock progress towards achieving the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals in Sri Lanka. The Peacebuilding Window focuses on strengthening national capacities at all levels for conflict management and laying the foundation for sustainable peace and development. Project activities include: (1) supporting women’s rights groups to preserve and expand civic space; (2) equipping media and communication professionals with tools to effectively monitor and prevent hate speech and misinformation; and (3) building capacity for existing community networks to contribute to and participate in decision-making and dialogue mechanisms at local and national levels.

Pakistan is continuing its flood recovery efforts in response to the 2022 devastating floods that impacted the lives of over 33 million across the country.

The project aims to respond to critical challenges caused or exacerbated by the 2022 floods, while strengthening resilience to climate change and shocks for flood affected and at-risk communities. The project also aims to strengthen proactive mitigation and gender-responsive disaster preparedness and recovery, accelerate resilient access to and provision of essential basic services, and promote access to assets and strategies critical to the resumption and resilience of livelihoods, particularly for women and girls in flood affected communities.

The project is aligned with the Government of Pakistan’s, “Resilient Recovery, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Framework”.

This project aims to improve the economic resilience of Afghan women by facilitating employment and livelihoods opportunities in the health and early childhood development sectors. Project activities include: (1) providing vocational and work-readiness skills training targeting employment opportunities; (2) providing entrepreneurial skills training and resources for business start-up; and (3) raising awareness and knowledge among community members, especially men, on the importance of inclusive employment and women’s access to services.

This project provides a financial contribution to the Preparatory Commission of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization to support the next Integrated Field Exercise for on-site inspection.

This initiative will examine the trajectories of emerging and disruptive technologies (EDT) and other weapons of mass destruction relevant technologies (WMD-RT), with the aim of identifying those that either present WMD threats that can be countered or have the potential to support WMD non-proliferation and counter-terrorism efforts. Project activities include: (1) Conducting a Global Mapping and Horizon Scanning Workshop; (2)Conducting a Scenario Building and Futures Workshop and; (3) Producing a final report and action plan that provides insights and recommendations for Global Partnership action on weapons of mass destruction (WMD) Related Technologies

The project aims to increase voter resilience in the Philippines, Czechia, and Côte d’Ivoire to foreign manipulation and interference in information. Over a period of 15 months, the project will coordinate with journalists, content creators, civil society and public sector actors, as well as international partners and election observers, to develop context-specific interventions in the targeted countries, conduct tailored and gender-responsive training workshops, and provide technical support. The project will also establish and operate a monitoring and early warning team, which will set up a designated physical “situation room” in the country to detect, analyze, and disseminate information on interference patterns and relevant narratives, and develop actions to counter foreign manipulation and interference in information in these countries.

This project will study the evolution of the atmospheric content in brown dwarfs. The observations will inform both our theoretical understanding of brown dwarf and extrasolar planet atmospheres, and future observations with JWST and other space- or ground-based large telescopes.

The project targets strong-lensing clusters which provide a factor of 3 - 50 boost in the brightness of background sources.
