The objective of this project is to develop and launch the Trail Town project by March 31, 2023. The project will develop and enhance visitor information services, urban to rural product offerings, develop tour packages by season and promote tourism-dependent businesses. Specifically, the project will focus on 4 main activity areas. (1) Purchase and install way-finding signage in key locations of existing trail systems and develop self-guided maps and itineraries aimed at cyclists that elevates the visitor experience and encourages extended visits. (2) Develop and promote self-guided tours in conjunction with motorcycle and car clubs to encourage visits to regional assets. (3) Develop and promote digitized self-guided tours for regional assets, heritage sites and cultural attractions aimed at visitors and residents. (4) Coordinate with cities and municipalities within Waterloo Region to develop a comprehensive digitized map of all cycling, walking and hiking trails on a platform that includes hotels, restaurants, major attractions and gamefies use to include value-added incentives from local businesses. The project is anticipated to create 1 and maintain 2 jobs.

This project will support the development and implementation of a Tourism Strategic Plan for the Township of Bonnechere Valley, located in Eganville. This will be accomplished through community engagement and industry analysis, drafting and presenting the tourism development strategy, and implementing the Plan. The intended outcome is providing an inclusive framework for tourism marketing, promotion and development within the municipality; and the promotion of Indigenous tourism products in the neighbouring Indigenous community of the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan.

This project will create a self-guided immersive experience app at Topsy Farms Limited to enhance visitors’ experiences at the farmyard in Stella, in Lennox and Addington County. This will be accomplished by developing a mobile application that guides visitors through the attractions featured at the farm, without physical contact, while maintaining health and safety protocols, providing educational information, and promoting agri-tourism.

This project will introduce new virtual programing and add new historic sites with COVID-19 adaptations to the tour offerings of Haunted Walks Inc., located in the cities of Ottawa, Toronto and Kingston. This will be accomplished by hiring professional bus transportation to allow its staff to get to sites while maintaining safe distancing; expanding the schedule and scope of programming at tour sites; creating new public ghost investigations at additional historic sites in Ontario; and creating “Virtual Haunted Campfire” programs featuring storytellers from historic sites across Canada.

This project will support Lakepoint Cottage Resort on Golden Lake enhance seasonal dispersion by expanding shoulder and winter season accommodation offerings. This will include the construction of five four-season bunkhouses and the winterization of existing cottages to cater to snowmobilers and winter travellers in the Kawartha Lakes Region.

This project will support the expansion of Pearl Morissette Estate Winery Inc.’s operations located in Jordan Station, of the Niagara Region. This will include building and installing a market stand to sell produce grown onsite, the creation and launch of an e-commerce platform for year-round online sales of produce and flowers, and the development and launch of educational tour tastings and workshops.

This project will support Indigenous Experiences to revitalize, modernize and renovate an existing structure to create Mādahòkì Farm, an Indigenous culinary tourism asset in Nepean. This will renovate and modernize the existing farm structure; develop culinary and farming tourism experiences; purchase and install commercial kitchen equipment that will meet public health codes; purchase and installation of seating, tipis, bicycle racks and signage; and complete restorative landscaping.

To enhance and build on the two signature campaigns, “Feast ON” and “Great Taste of Ontario Road Trip”.

To develop their summer camp as a destination of choice for children from the urban areas of the Greater Toronto Region.

The objective of this project is to expand the drainage system to allow for the capture and recycling of storm water for the use of snow-making.
