This project aims to improve the existing Artificial Intelligence-enabled Industrial Energy Management Information System (AI EMIS) prototype which reduces energy costs, improves energy efficiency and industrial productivity and reduces carbon emissions in mineral processing within the mining sector. Cancer is the leading cause of death in Canada, and while immunotherapy shows promise, it faces challenges such as high costs, long production times, and severe side effects. The Maganti laboratory at Canadian Blood Services has developed a small molecule cocktail to improve the production of "off-the-shelf" immune cells from cord blood stem cells. However, this technology needs optimization for clinical scale production of chimeric antigen receptor-expressing NK (CAR-NK) cells using good manufacturing practices (GMP). This proposal aims to create a GMP qualifying manufacturing protocol to produce CAR-NK cells (expressing a novel CD20 CAR) at clinical scale, making immunotherapy more accessible, affordable, and safer, ultimately improving cancer treatment in Canada.

The purpose of this CanExport Innovation agreement is to support Canadian organizations to carry out activities related to pursuing opportunities that would lead to establishing new collaborative Research and Development (R&D) partnerships between the Recipient and foreign organizations in order to support R&D on the Recipient’s technology and advance its commercialization.

The Project will support pilot testing of AI strategies, determine target architecture and quantitative technical objectives for implementation of an AI solution.

Researching, developing, and testing a system and supporting hardware to interact with multiple acoustic sensors arranged on a target site to provide automated results and attribution of acoustic emissions using temporal and audio data as well as weather and location data and provide real-time alarms and feedback to site owners or relevant stakeholders. This will help develop a working prototype of a new system which replaces the old process reliant on synchronous data collection and manual processing of data.

The project will support the assessment of data quality and data sources for AI project development. The project may also characterize and document aspects of data for AI and Data Governance.
