This 32 month project with Covenant House Vancouver will develop and implement intervention practices that will advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for youth aged 16 to 24 at risk of, or survivors of, sexual exploitation and human trafficking in Vancouver.

This will be achieved by researching, drafting, distributing and evaluating a practice guide, tool kit, and training model to support frontline staff and community partners to provide empowerment supports for trafficked youth.

At the end of the project the organization will have strengthened policies and practices with respect to human trafficking and sexual exploitation of youth. CHV staff will be fully trained and supported to implement best practices, and the tool kit generated by the project will be shared at a training session for community partners.

The project will include an external evaluation that will look at the success and scalability of the promising practices.

The supplement funds will be used to address higher project-related costs than what was budgeted in the project outset.

This 38-month project with the Nova Scotia Native Women's Association will develop and implement the Nova Scotia Indigenous Human Trafficking Prevention Strategy, a promising practice that will advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for at-risk populations and survivors of human trafficking in Nova Scotia.

This will be achieved by creating a prevention advisory committee; by creating and implementing prevention program activities, workshops and services; by creating a more comprehensive circle of support for organizations and individuals; and by evaluating the efficacy of coordinated access as a meaningful community-based tool to combat human trafficking.

At the end of the project, the organization will have the capacity to provide trauma-informed programs and services for victims and survivors, created and delivered in a culturally relevant manner, utilizing Mi’kmaw language and practices as the foundation.

The project will include an external evaluation that will look at the success and scalability of the promising practices.

This 12-month project will engage leaders from various francophone minority communities across the country in a conversation about each person's key role in the fight against toxic masculinity and francophobia. This project will host the first national forum to address toxic masculinity and francophobia.

This 30-month project will convene a network of national racialized, immigrant and refugee women’s alliance in Canada. The organization will develop a project charter to guide its engagement with grassroots and other racialized, immigrant and refugee women’s groups to map out needs, interests and viability.

This 18-month project will support the development, implementation and evaluation of a social marketing campaign, featuring compelling calls to action to inspire men and boys across Canada to change their attitudes and behaviours, to seek help when needed, and to embrace their roles as allies and change makers.

This 18-month project will strengthen capacity and networks of OUTSaskatoon to advance LGBTQ2 equality. This will be achieved by increasing access to evidence and knowledge of LGBTQ2 challenges through collaboration among organizations, and enhancing technical expertise within organizations through skills development, resources distribution, training strategies and assessment of community needs by mapping out 2SLGBTQ youth housing service for Saskatchewan.

At the end of the project, the organization will have increased knowledge and capacity to advance equality with respect to sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, and established and/or strengthened partnerships and collaboration to support the LGBTQ2 movement.

To support business needs while recovering from COVID-19

The project contributes towards the realization of children’s rights to quality education by supporting learning continuity among in-school and out-of-school children in the cities of Paranaque, Taguig, and Pateros. In line with the Philippines’ Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan for COVID-19, the project aims to improve the learning environment of 6 to 12 year olds in homes, communities, and care institutions, as well as to support the government in the roll-out of distance-based education.

Project activities include: (1) distributing learning and communication materials/ gadgets; (2) developing a parenting program that provides cash assistance and training on gender-equitable parenting; (3) improving capacity building within care institutions; (4) developing home-based assessments for government to monitor children’s learning and well-being; and (5) establishing communication platforms to strengthen stakeholder engagement.

The project directly benefits 51,595 children, parents, caregivers, teachers, and local government officials, of which 24,848 are girls and 2,360 are women.
