In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

This 36-month project with PARTNERS Family Services Inc. will develop and implement a holistic, trauma-informed and culturally relevant program that assists in reintegration and healing, as well as community education and intervention practices to advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for survivors of human trafficking.
This will be achieved by delivering educational workshops to regional support organizations, empowering support to engage survivors of trafficking, developing resources to bring awareness of trafficking to regional hospitality industry, building partnerships with human services organizations in the region, and training for staff.
At the end of the project, the organization will have developed and implemented promising intervention practices that will advance knowledge and enhance empowerment supports for at-risk populations and survivors of human trafficking.
The project will include an external evaluation that will look at the success and scalability of the promising practices.

WAGE COVID- 19 Project Concept

This 12-month project will address capacity shortfalls and increased demand created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, this project will conduct a needs assessment and survey to identify the scale of the problem; address the community’s women’s barriers to equality and identify mechanisms to overcome these barriers; establish and continually update a bank of COVID 19 related information; train women, youth leaders and volunteers; operate an accessible communication network for the community’s people; implement labour market and employment connection supports; implement workplace health and safety educational supports; provide access to economic and social supports; provide health information services activities; provide direct aid and relief services; implement networking, partnership and advocacy activities; and conduct project evaluation.
