To construct and/or rehabilitate transportation infrastructure to support the movement of goods and people

March 2020 - A decade of conflict between government forces and Islamist insurgents in northeastern Nigeria has given rise to one of the most severe humanitarian crises in the world, characterized by mass displacement and grave human rights abuses, including abductions, killings, and sexual violence. In 2020, assessments indicate that 7.7 million people are expected to require humanitarian assistance, including emergency food rations, treatment for life-threatening severe acute malnutrition and other healthcare services, and protection for vulnerable women and girls at grave risk of sexual and gender-based violence.

With the support of GAC and other donors, the Nigeria Humanitarian Fund channels resources to humanitarian partners to respond to the critical needs of people affected by the devastating humanitarian situation. Project activities include: (1) filling critical funding gaps to support life-saving activities, such as shelter, health or protection; (2) promoting needs-based assistance, including targeting the most vulnerable, in accordance with humanitarian principles; (3) strengthening coordination of humanitarian assistance; (4) improving the relevance and coherence of humanitarian response by strategically funding priorities as identified under the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) Humanitarian Response Plan; and (5) expanding the delivery of humanitarian assistance in hard-to-reach areas by partnering with local and international non-governmental organizations.

March 2020 – Ongoing drought and population displacement caused by intercommunal conflict since late 2017 have left at least 8.4 million Ethiopians in need of humanitarian assistance, including emergency food rations, treatment for acute malnutrition and other healthcare services, and safe water and sanitation services. Additionally, some 700,000 refugees, from South Sudan, Somalia, Eritrea, and Sudan, are now living within Ethiopia’s borders and remain reliant on international assistance to meet their basic needs .

With GAC’s support and through the Ethiopia Humanitarian Fund, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) is providing funding to United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations to respond to newly emerging crises and shifting/deteriorating humanitarian situations throughout the year. Project activities include: (1) support life-saving activities by filling critical funding gaps; (2) promote needs-based assistance in accordance with humanitarian principles; (3) strengthen coordination of humanitarian assistance; (4) improve the relevance and coherence of humanitarian response by strategically funding priorities as identified under the Humanitarian Response Plan; and (5) expand the delivery of humanitarian assistance in hard-to-reach areas of the country by partnering with local and international non-governmental organizations .

Commercialization Strategy: The project aims to implement a commercialization strategy for CubeHX, a cloud-based neurophysiological data triangulation platform licensed by an innovative start-up company.

Marketing strategy and product development: The project's main objective is to market the 2021 and 2022 editions of the Abitibi-Témiscamingue World Guitar Festival outside of Quebec, as well as to enhance its experiential offer.

Marketing strategy: The project aims to implement a commercialization strategy for CubeHX, a cloud computing platform for triangulation of neurophysiological data licensed from an innovative start-up company.

The objective of this project has for a goal of this multidisciplinary team of agri-environmental specialists is to provide around 500 clients in the Estrie region with leading-edge expertise in agri-environment. The intern will participate in field crop and vegetable crop agronomic services including insect, disease and weed scouting, crop monitoring and field trials, project data collection, soil sampling and farm plan plotting.

​​The objective of the project is to hire an intern to work​ on a fruit farm. The intern will provide general farm labour as well as prepare farm grown fruit to be used at on site bakery for direct sale to customers.
