The project consists of three online courses per year on the legal vocabulary related to the Divorce Act, Custody and Access and Child Support. The training will target employees from English-speaking provinces and the three territories (Legal Aid lawyers, court staff, court interpreters, lawyers, mediators, clerks, etc.) as well as other private stakeholders in the field of Family Law. The project also entails the development of learning tools designed to complement the online courses.

The project will consist of English legal terminology language training for judges, presiding justices of the peace and municipal judges who deal with criminal matters and who have an intermediate knowledge of English. The project will assist in increasing the quality of justice services provided to the English speaking community in Québec and contribute to improving access to justice for the English-speaking community in Québec.

Over the next five fiscal years, Alberta will enhance victim services and promote access to justice for victims and survivors of crime by: enhancing online training provided to victim serving stakeholders; addressing information-security and sharing barriers and identifying technologies to support transformation; the expanded implementation of the Domestic Violence Justice Response to mid-size urban and rural areas to enhance services to victims/families involved intimate partner violence charge files and undertaking various activities to support the implementation of the Canadian Victim Bill of Rights, including further distribution of testimonial aids for victims of crime, update the Alberta Victims of Crime Protocol for victims and the Roles and Responsibilities document for all criminal justice providers, and address policies and processes to support participation of victims and survivors in the criminal justice process.

The province of Ontario has entered into an Agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to share in the costs of youth justice services and programs within their jurisdiction. The priority of the Agreement is to support and promote programs and services that are consistent with the following objectives: - To encourage accountability measures for unlawful behaviour that are proportionate and timely; - To encourage effective rehabilitation and reintegration of young persons into their communities; - To target the formal court process to the most serious offences; and, - To target detention and custody to the most serious offences.

The province of Saskatchewan has entered into an Agreement with the Department of Justice Canada to share in the costs of youth justice services and programs within their jurisdiction. The priority of the Agreement is to support and promote programs and services that are consistent with the following objectives: - To encourage accountability measures for unlawful behaviour that are proportionate and timely; - To encourage effective rehabilitation and reintegration of young persons into their communities; - To target the formal court process to the most serious offences; and, - To target detention and custody to the most serious offences.

The objective of the agreement between Canada and the Minister of Justice and Attorney General is to support the development of Gladue reports in British Columbia to help reduce the overrepresentation of Indigenous Peoples in the criminal justice and correctional systems.

The Recipient agrees to: contribute to addressing the overrepresentation of Indigenous people in the criminal justice system through activities such as civil/family mediation, prevention, diversion and/or reintegration.

To assist CACP in continuing to respond to criminal legislative policy development with regard to its impact on police and make recommendations on legislative initiatives, attend consultations with Justice, Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness and other partners in the criminal justice field and in providing advice to the Department on justice-related issues and recommendations on possible amendments to the law, namely through its Law Amendment Committee.
