To support business needs while recovering from COVID-19

The objectives of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program (YESSP) are to help all youth navigate through the labour market and to successfully transition into sustained employment. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development and meaningful work experiences.

The objectives of the Program are to; support the development and utilization of effective approaches to address social issues and challenges; develop, exchange and apply knowledge, tools and resources that address social needs of individuals, families and communities; foster partnerships and networks to address existing and emerging social issues; recognize and support the ability of not-for-profit organizations to identify and address social development priorities; and, recognize and promote community engagement initiatives (e.g. volunteerism, corporate social responsibility, innovation, partnerships, coalitions) that mobilize community assets and develop capacities and resources for action.

The overarching objective of the Union Training and Innovation Program aims to strengthen apprenticeship training systems to better support a skilled, inclusive, certified and productive trades workforce by improving the efficiency and effectiveness of training provided.
The streams have the following specific objectives:
Stream 1 (Equipment) will increase investment in training equipment and materials for higher quality training, leading to a more skilled and productive trade workforce.
Stream 2 (Innovation in Apprenticeship) will support innovation and enhanced partnerships to address long-standing and complex challenges that limit apprenticeship outcomes.
Stream 3 (Women in Construction Fund [WCF]) will support projects that expand or replicate successful models to encourage more women to participate and succeed in apprenticeship and the skilled trades. Stream 4 (Trades Exploration and Experience Program) will support projects that encourage Canadians to explore, prepare for, participate and succeed in apprenticeship and skilled trades careers. This stream is limited to participants who are not registered apprentices.

The objective of this project is to renovate a newly acquired facility that will house a state-of-the-art kitchen which will be used to repurpose the surplus food donations from producers into healthy meals for the region’s at-risk populations.

The objective of this project is the expansion of a community garden, construction of two greenhouses, addition of a root cellar and energy/water systems.

The objective of this project is to purchase a tractor, garden beds, water system and an electric fence to provide an inclusive garden space, provide outreach and educational programs and to provide healthy food for those in need.

The objective of this project is that funding will go towards the purchase of a Growcer compartmentalized growing system, which will be integrated into Altario School’s Agriculture Education Program, providing year-round fresh, locally grown, produce for this rural community.

The objective of this project is requesting funding for a refrigerated vehicle.
