The Health Technology Assessment Support for SMEs aims to provide health technology assessment and guidance to SMEs. This project will help SMEs understand in quantified terms, the potential value of their new products/technologies to healthcare payers and insurers, commercial viability, market access opportunity, risks, and potential return on investment. It will undertake a quantitative assessment of the clinical and economic outcomes that might be achieved with the new product, and a determination of whether a healthcare payer will reimburse the product at a price sufficient to generate a return on investment. This will assist in strategic decision making that will impact the strategies used in the product life cycle management.

The Project will support the assessment of data quality and data sources for AI project development. The project may also characterize and document aspects of data for AI and Data Governance.

Research and development for the creation of a detachable auxiliary power unit and fuel pump for applications in private and commercial aviation.

The project aims to integrate innovative 100% electric tow platform and tipper technology. The platform will be installed on a 100% electric Class 8 truck. The tipper design facilitates loading and unloading, improving efficiency and safety.

This project focuses on creating an advanced automated retinal image analysis platform for Canada’s healthcare system. Using cutting-edge deep learning techniques and multimodal large language models, the platform will analyze 3D OCT scans to detect retinal diseases and conditions. By incorporating a robust human-in-the-loop validation process, the system ensures highly accurate and reliable insights for clinicians. This innovation aims to reduce diagnostic delays, improve patient outcomes, and enhance the efficiency of retinal disease management in clinical practice.

Development of an AI-based monitoring robot designed to accelerate tactical and strategic monitoring within firms. The project aims to create an AI-powered system to reduce repetitive tasks for humans (research, updating, and refinement) and significantly reduce signal configuration and analysis time.

RegLLM is a compact AI model (1-2B parameters) designed to enhance regulatory compliance and policy evaluation. Optimized for edge deployment, it enables secure, real-time regulatory assessments while reducing costs and improving accuracy. This project focuses on developing a privacy-preserving, explainable AI system tailored for legal and compliance use cases. By improving efficiency and scalability, RegLLM aims to accelerate AI adoption in regulatory industries, positioning Canada as a leader in AI-driven compliance automation.

The project provides SMEs with technologies in the Aging in Place market segment with access to SAM3's multi-disciplinary technical, clinical and end user expertise and experience.
