EUREKA Consortium Project 15619 NOVIRALRISK – Risk of viral contagion in buildings from airborne-transmission of pathogens led by the National Research Council of Canada with partners from Germany, Finland, and Sweden.

This project is intended as a means to provide specific scientific and technical building system information on strategies to optimize the operation of HVAC or passive ventilation systems within buildings and identify potential gaps in respect to their operation versus the recommendations provided by cognizant authorities of the participating countries. To develop a satellite video analytic software for large satellite imagery. The software developed will provide various machine learning tools to retrieve a wide variety of information about the video and imagery being analyzed. The simple user-friendly graphic user interface will let the operator to easily use the software with very little prior experience with the software. The software solution for satellite imagery processing can be applied in maritime environments with ship detection, semantic segmentation, identification, and tracking for satellite videos for both visualization within the software and to export the extracted information in remote sensing standard formats like geoJSON.

CLAS is embarking on a project to streamline infrastructure, workflows and its mobile environment to prepare for advanced features such as a marketplace and rural notification system. The marketplace will enable rural landowners to reach new markets, sales channels and capitalize on the demands of the end consumer while enhancing B2B activities. The notification system will allow landowners to send push notifications to neighbouring properties and authorities as a way of alerting them to suspicious activity in the area to keep communities safe.

The transducer and electronics of an ultrasound probe can be significantly optimized and simplified by careful design for a specific application. The FloPatch uses continuous wave Doppler ultrasound, with relatively simple electronics to produce a pressure wave from one of two identical transducers and process the echoes received by the other. We have developed functional prototypes with a miniaturized, wearable form factor and demonstrated their ability to measure changes in carotid blood flow. The challenge now is to make the device low cost, and therefore commercially viable.
