The goal is to increase delivery of active transportation and urban mobility support and programming to marginalized and underserved communities including: seniors, children, women, people with non-binary gender identities, economically-challenged people, racialized communities, and the disabled community.

This project seeks to contribute to the implementation of the Agreement for Peace and Reconciliation in Mali by making the tools for its implementation—Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration (DDR), a joint protection force and local police—more participatory, inclusive, and gender and conflict sensitive. The proposed activities aim to meet the needs of local populations in northern regions, Mopti, Kayes and the District of Bamako.

These include a particular focus on gender, and facilitates the reintegration of Renamo ex-combatants into society.

Project activities include: (1) supporting 9 water treatment systems and rehabilitating waterpoints in 10 targeted schools; (2) supporting community-based management of acute malnutrition; (3) providing messaging on Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) best practices to 28,181 pregnant and lactating women, 7,500 women of childbearing age and 5,500 men; and (4) reaching 12,000 women, men, boys and girls with gender-based violence services and referral information.

It will enable equitable access to trading opportunities by eliminating gender-based barriers that prevent women from benefiting from the full potential of trade as framed by the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA).

This project aims to strengthen gender-responsive mine action efforts in emergency and long-term recovery activities for crisis-affected women and girls in Myanmar.

Project activities include: (1) developing diversity plans in 15 government institutions; (2) developing tools and guidelines for gender equality focal points in the public service; (3) providing grants to civil society organizations to advocate for inclusive public services; and (4) supporting women’s rights organizations in facilitating intercultural and interfaith dialogue.

Recipients will be selected based on their explicit focus on advancing the rights and interests of marginalised communities and groups. Gender and its intersectionality will receive special attention in the project selection, as well as in capacity building of grantees.

The Academy will provide customized and gender-sensitive training to G7 partners and aligned Emerging Markets and Developing Countries (EMDCs) focused on detecting and countering DTNR operations.

The Program aims to: (1) provide support to increase the capacity of public service institutions and small and growing businesses to innovate, adapt to changing circumstances, and incorporate gender equality and environmental sustainability; (2) assist high potential leaders in developing countries, especially women, to increase their ability to adapt and innovate; (3) improve the capacity of developing country partners to develop and deploy innovations for sustainable development results; and (4) enhance young Canadians’ awareness of and ability to engage in sustainable development efforts, particularly within the engineering sector.
