The purpose of the program is to provide support to organizations that undertake projects that that contribute to the development and implementation of coastal zone plans, identify restoration priorities, implement projects, and address threats to marine species located on Canada's Coasts. The program would contribute to the mitigation of stressors affecting aquatic habitats and marine life, and would engage Indigenous groups, resource users, and local groups and communities in undertaking planning, restoration, capacity building, monitoring, and reporting activities.

The North Fraser Indigenous Youth Justice Services project aims to enhance the rehabilitative and reintegration programming available to Indigenous youth who are under community Youth Justice supervision by implementing a Cultural Care Team component including a dedicated Youth Probation Officer, a funded Elder and a Roots Worker. The Cultural Care Team will be responsible for developing and managing comprehensive cultural and intervention plans for Indigenous youth with intervention activities focusing on cultural identity, family and community supports, cultural learning, restorative justice and maintaining ongoing communication between the various youth justice stakeholders. The sought objectives of this project are to reduce the future number of Indigenous youth coming through the Youth Justice System as well as to reduce the number of breaches and recidivism of Indigenous youth currently involved in the Youth Justice system.

Through this project, the Council of the Atikamekw Nation is proposing the implementation of new intervention programs designed to support the administration of extrajudicial measures and probation for Atikamekw youth. These programs, based on the principles of restorative justice, will be culturally appropriate, safe and include wilderness camps. Finally, the involvement of the family (family council), the elders (council of elders), other service providers and the victim will contribute to raising the youth's awareness about their offending behaviour.

Requested funding will allow the review and update of BC's version of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA) Pocket Guide to include the legislative amendments that came into force in December 2019.

The objective of paying the annual assessed contribution is to enable Canada to meet its financial obligations to the Conference as well as fulfilling Canada's international policy objectives by participating in the work of the organization.

Provide financial assistance to an individual Canadian victim of a specified serious violent crime in a foreign jurisdiction for emergency situations of undue hardship where no other source of financial assistance is available (specified categories of crimes are homicide, sexual assault, aggravated assault or assault with serious personal violence, or threat of serious violence, including against a child) or to an individual support person to accompany, attend with or support a Canadian victimized in a foreign jurisdiction. A total of 46 individuals received financial assistance in this regard.

Provide financial assistance to an individual victim or support person (as defined in the Corrections and Conditional Release Act and who are registered with Correctional Service Canada or the Parole Board of Canada), to attend Parole Board of Canada hearings in respect of the offender who harmed them.
