Ground granulated blast furnace slag (GGBFS), a byproduct of iron production, has seen wide adoption by the concrete industry. On the other hand, Basic Oxygen Furnace (BOF) slag, another abundantly available byproduct of steel production, has seen practically no use as Supplementary Cementitious Materials (SCM).

Inkas and U of T undertook the development of the technology of converting BOF slag into reactive SCM using mechanical calcination (MC).

The positive results of the initial experiments suggested use of such method for processing BOF steel slag and proposed solution to a pressing problem of metallurgical waste utilization by converting it into reactive SCM that can be further used in concrete production.

Skatscribe's Supply Chain Resiliency Initiative is a critical project designed to build a resilient and adaptable supply chain capable of mitigating risks associated with reliance on specific geographic regions, particularly China, for critical components, ensuring business continuity and minimizing potential disruptions to manufacturing operations. Initially, the scope focuses on primary components, with expansion to other components phased based on risk assessment and resource availability.

The Project will support the assessment of data quality and data sources for AI project development. The project may also characterize and document aspects of data for AI and data governance.

Originality.ai is enhancing its AI-generated content detection with next-gen Turbo and Lite models. These models will be retrained using deep learning and adversarial techniques to detect outputs from advanced LLMs (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude 3, Gemini 1.5). The project includes stress-testing with public datasets, multilingual support, and rigorous benchmarking to ensure top performance in speed and accuracy. This upgrade is essential to maintain our competitive edge and meet growing client demands for real-time, precise detection.

Clean Works is advancing our Clean Flow technology through design, construction and testing of a commercial scale gas phase hydroxyl-radical unit to facilitate egg disinfection focused on eliminating Salmonella and other avian pathogens in coordination with our academic lab & commercial partners. Backed on strong research data including published papers, this project will scale the lab findings to a commercialized unit that supports a technology launch into a new sales vertical.
