The key objective of the ALLESP is to improve the awareness of adult learning, literacy and essential skills among partners, stakeholders and employers and the application and integration of literacy and essential skills into their programs and activities.

The objective of the IRP is to improve the ability of (SPO)s to participate in the social finance market (i.e. secure a repayable investment), as well as to engage in procurement and outcomes-based funding opportunities by: • Enabling SPOs to gain a variety of skills and competencies along the investment readiness continuum; • Supporting the readiness of established expert services providers to provide nation-wide capacity-building services to SPOs in one or more key area along the investment readiness continuum; and • Supporting the advancement of Canada’s SI/SF ecosystems by responding to identified system-level gaps (e.g. building the capacities of social finance intermediaries, advancing impact measurement, and supporting SI/SF awareness and knowledge mobilization).

The objectives of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) are to help all youth navigate through the labour market and to successfully transition into sustained employment. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development and meaningful work experiences.

The ISET Program is a distinctions-based labour market program designed to help First Nations, Inuit, Métis and Urban non-affiliated Indigenous people improve their skills and meet their long-term career goals. The program supports Indigenous service delivery organizations to provide Indigenous people with the skills and training they need to secure employment in the labour market.

The objective of the OF is to assist persons with disabilities prepare for, obtain and keep employment or become self-employed, thereby increasing their economic participation and independence.

The objectives of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) are to help all youth navigate through the labour market and to successfully transition into sustained employment. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development and meaningful work experiences.

The program focuses on groups that face barriers entering the trades, like youth, women, Indigenous people, newcomers, persons with disabilities, members of racialized communities.

The organization will offer the services of a Human Trafficking Support Specialist (HTSS) for victims of human trafficking. The HTSS will provide enhanced victim services and support before, during and after legal proceedings; early intervention with youth and adults to reduce risk for vulnerable victims; and provide training for police officers, Crown Attorneys, health care providers and other groups to better detect and identify cases of human trafficking and victimization and to enhance the prosecution of human trafficking and sexual assault offenses.

The organization will provide knowledge, information and awareness training on human trafficking for probation officers and stakeholders across the province of Nova Scotia. The goal of the training is to provide participants with the tools to educate students in schools and through community outreach to prevent youth from being coerced into the sex trade.

The project will increase the capacity of the organization to meet the complex needs of victims of human trafficking.
