Prairie Research Kitchen at Red River College will collaborate with the NRC as it is equipped to evaluate the performance of these new materials in different food media. Such information is critical for technology development and as a way to determine the potential applications and adoption by the food packaging industry.

Project activities include: setting up a training program on how to use information and communication technology (ICT) as an international development tool for interns; developing and facilitating educational games in math, chemistry and physics; developing an online discussion forum every year to share best practices and tools; practical work with Canadian organizations working in the social communications, ICT, media or digital security sectors; and providing training on communications strategies in support of work on international development (governance, gender equality and environment).

Project activities include: (1) developing regional and country-specific extractive industry audit guidelines, training curricula and other technical resources aligned with international best practices, including gender and environment-specific tools; (2) completing extractive industry pilot audits in target countries to test guidelines and technical resources; (3) delivering extractive industry audit training and on-the-job coaching to Supreme Audit Institutions and other national oversight bodies; and (4) developing guidelines and processes for systematically engaging stakeholders, including citizens, women’s groups, civil society organizations, media and industry in extractive industry auditing processes.

Project activities include: (1) providing technical advice to Honduran institutions such as the Attorney General’s Office, the Supreme Electoral Tribunal, the National Police of Honduras and other entities; (2) establishing an observatory of the criminal justice system to help civil society hold the Government to account; and (3) providing support to the implementation of the new Law for the Protection of Human Rights Defenders, Journalists, Media Personnel, and Justice Officials.

The project, implemented by the Organization of American States (OAS), is directly strengthening capacity of civil society and public servants involved in Honduras’ justice and political systems; ultimately indirectly benefiting the entire Honduran population.

The Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) will achieve this by introducing equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) policy initiatives into IPIC’s leadership development activities; developing and delivering training and awareness-raising programming for the Canadian IP profession; and developing resources to support EDI best practices and promote diversity. A website and social media campaign will support access to resources and highlight best practices, policy initiatives as well as programming available.

North Shore Restorative Justice Society will publish a report on its website and publicize on social media to share information on the promising practice with those involved in the project and others so that they may replicate it or expand upon it.

YWCA Halifax will create reports and multi-media pieces that summarize project findings and recommendations for key partners and stakeholders, and host a final meeting event to share project results, create workshop opportunities and develop action planning strategies for knowledge dissemination.
