P001068001: This initiative aims to improve the lives and incomes of 10,000 poor and vulnerable farming households (approximately 80,000 people) through agriculture-driven economic growth. The project is providing training and related technical support in modern farming methods to farmers in order to increase yields for selected commodity and livestock value chains. The project also aims to improve the business environment to make it more favourable for farmers, women and youth. Project activities seek to increase market access, generate employment and improve nutrition for vulnerable women and children.

P000856001 & P000856002 & P000856003: This project aims to improve inclusive economic growth and support peacebuilding in Colombia by providing market-driven training and employment opportunities for women, victims of the armed conflict, at-risk youth and Venezuelan migrants in eight cities: Soacha, Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, Cartagena, Barranquilla, Buenaventura y Quibdó. The project also increases the ability of local authorities and private sector partners to develop and implement inclusive employment policies and practices for vulnerable populations. Activities incude: (1) training of youth beneficiaries (60% women), providing them with market-driven technical skills to access decent employment; (2) creating internship opportunities for targeted youth beneficiaries; (3) developing partnerships with private sector companies interested in providing internship and employment opportunities for poor and vulnerable people; (4) training private sector partners on gender-responsive and inclusive recruitment and retention of poor and vulnerable people; and (5) signing diversity and inclusion protocols as part of the human resource management practices of private sector partners.

The project is expected to reach 10,000 vulnerable women, youth, victims and migrant, and at least 60 per cent will receive a guaranteed job placement with private sector partners.

This project aims to procure, deliver and install three CT scanners to three public hospitals in Egypt serving the lower to lower-middle income populations, which include the 1) Kafr El Zayat General Hospital (Lower Egypt); 2) Monofia General Hospital (Upper Egypt); and 3) Imbaba General Hospital (Greater Cairo). The project will also see the provision of will also of training to hospital staff on operating and maintaining the scanners. This project intends to provide health services to the over 20 million inhabitants, including poor and vulnerable women and men, living in the densely-populated and urban governorates of Gharbia, Monofiya & Giza.

This project aims to reduce biological threats by strengthening health security capacities for disease surveillance and response, specifically focusing on integrated disease surveillance at the sub-national level, event-based surveillance, genomic surveillance, and epidemic intelligence.

It transports passengers undertaking humanitarian work, carries light cargo for humanitarian agencies, and carries out emergency medical and security evacuations. This project operates in Afghanistan, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Haiti, Honduras, Madagascar, Nigeria, Pakistan, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Syria, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.

With GAC’s support in humanitarian emergencies, WFP focuses on providing targeted food assistance to reduce acute malnutrition and food insecurity, and protect livelihoods. Project activities include: (1) distributing food; and (2) providing supplementary feeding for children under the age of 5 years, as well as pregnant and lactating women.

With the support of GAC and other donors, the project aims to provide assistance and protection to refugees, internally displaced persons and other persons of concern in Afghanistan and neighboring countries. Project activities include: (1) providing shelter, clothing and other essential non-food items; (2) providing adequate water, sanitation and health services, including in reproductive health; (3) providing opportunities for education and livelihoods support; (4) providing protection, including against sexual and gender-based violence, child protection and working with governments to register asylum seekers and refugees, and help issue identity documents; (5) working with governments to support refugee self-reliance and forge peaceful relations between refugees and local citizens; and (6) expanding opportunities for durable solutions for people of concern.

This project strengthens nuclear security in Latin America and internationally by increasing the professionalism and competencies of women and men nuclear security personnel. Project activities include: (1) supporting scholarship opportunities to the World Institute for Nuclear Security Academy; (2) improving gender parity in nuclear security through the development of a self assessment tool and international reporting framework for industry use; and (3) reducing the risk posed by transport security and cybersecurity vulnerabilities by expanding the availability of training tools and professional development opportunities in Latin America.

This project seeks to advance the women, peace, and security agenda in peacebuilding and governance in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The project also aims to prevent insecurity and violence in conflict-affected communities by empowering women and addressing gender inequality, including discriminatory gender norms, that are barriers to inclusive, sustainable peace by supporting the implementation of the Bangsamoro Regional Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security. Project activities include: (1) supporting the development of the Regional Action Plan on Women, Peace, and Security for 2023-2028; (2) training local officials on conflict mediation and dialogue; (3) integrating women mediators into regional and provincial early warning and response systems; (4) providing cash and in-kind support to women’s collectives for livelihood support; and (5) developing gender and conflict research and conducting knowledge-sharing sessions for key stakeholders. With GAC’s support, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is working to save lives and help reduce the suffering of people affected by the typhoon. Project activities include: (1) provision of emergency shelter materials such as shelter kits, tarpaulins and essential household items; (2) provision of complementary technical assistance to support safe housing repair; and (3) allocation of conditional cash and voucher assistance to displaced families.

The support of GAC and other donors to the Contingency Fund for Emergencies helps WHO react early to prevent escalation of outbreaks. Project activities include: (1) deploying experts to rapidly assess the threat of different outbreaks; and (2) initiating urgent activities to prevent the spread of outbreaks, such as the delivery of vital health supplies, the training of community health workers, and the implementation of vaccination campaign.
