More specifically, this project entitled “Assimilation of optical and radar data into permafrost/soil temperature modelling in relationship to carbon and water cycles in northern ecosystems ” has the objective (s): To develop a streamlined method that uses space-based Earth Observation for mapping soil temperature regimes and permafrost landforms and extent in the Canadian north.

The findings will inform behaviour change and advocacy campaigns; (2) developing a map and national directories of referrals and support services for survivors of GBV; (3) providing interactive training with male influencers to promote positive masculinities, and working with boys and young men to develop and reinforce gender- equitable attitudes and behaviours; (4) strengthening women’s rights and other advocacy organizations with training and tools to use evidence-based practices, case studies and accountability systems as they conduct oversight to help prevent and improve responses to GBV cases; and (5) creating an Innovation Fund to competitively award micro-grants to small organizations to advance gender-transformative activities that can reduce and respond to GBV.

Research and develop various policies for traffic calming, stop sign guidelines, travel demand management, and promotion of active transportation;
7.Prepare a final report for the Town including updated mapping and design standards.

The information collected through its images could help map the thawing of Arctic ice and permafrost and give a better picture of the impacts of climate change in the region.

Project activities include: (1) reviewing and mapping the existing legal framework, policies, materials and tools, and available data, as well as internal and external research conducted in this area; and (2) identifying thematic areas with overarching recommendations for further action in the form of a strategic framework.

While probability-based mathematical formalisms such as Bayesian Optimization exist, they often assume an unlimited amount of computing power, and it is unclear how they can be mapped into more realistic physical hardware, or into artificial neural networks.

. • Choose materials using MAP and density functional theory modeling, preliminarily predict the most plausible material chemistry and structure for next steps, and evaluate the new materials feasibility for scalability and potential market penetration. • Validate results using advanced and operando electrochemical techniques and scale up materials synthesis gram → kilogram. • Investigate up to three battery chemistry generations with a feedback loop based on the above analysis, material characterization and battery performance and modify materials coating with protective layers and enhanced electrolyte formulations

This 7-month project will gather learning, share lessons learned and contribute to inform the next steps for Nova Scotia and other provinces and territories in Canada on strategies to engage men as a means to reduce GBV by conducting research on the initial implementation of this pilot service, specifically by engaging men at risk of using violence in their relationships in services designed to assess, monitor, manage and reduce use of abusive behaviours; by mapping and analyzing the service landscape relevant to men and boys who may be seeking assistance in developing healthy and safe relationships; and by engaging local service providers in providing feedback on the successes and challenges of the pilot program and in considering the service landscape for men and boys in Nova Scotia.
