The project will develop and deliver public legal education and information materials and will work with employers, labour unions, business organizations and other stakeholders to increase awareness and improve legal literacy around workplace sexual harassment. The project will further develop collaboration among employers from various sectors to help prevent all forms of harassment and discrimination in workplaces across the province.

Building upon the current NRC-funded “Groundwater vulnerability to metal(loid) contamination in Whitehorse, Yukon” project, it is proposed to strengthen northern expertise in hydrogeology and to increase the capacity of Yukon University faculty and prepare a northern-led research project proposal in which northern scientists play leading roles. To develop the project proposal, engagement with stakeholders, including First Nations partners and private well owners, is required to recognize and discuss key water resource-related issues faced by Northerners, including aspects of physical and chemical hydrogeology beyond the scope of the original project, and to guide next steps for future research.

The Project uses quantum computing to solve a complex problem in molecular solvation theory, which is a fundamental concept in various scientific disciplines. Solvation influences chemical reactions, biomolecular interactions, and material stability. The Ornstein-Zernike (OZ) equation is a cornerstone of solvation theory, which helps us understand the spatial distribution of solvent molecules around a solute. The OZ equation is similar to the quantum-mechanical many-body Dyson equation, which bridges classical and quantum approaches in the study of solvation. By using quantum algorithms to solve the OZ equation, the team can improve the accuracy and speed of solvation predictions. This connection between these equations demonstrates the interdisciplinary nature of solvation research and the potential for quantum approaches to enhance insights into this critical area of science. In this project, we wish to prove that we can achieve 30 Kilobits/s at 750 m of horizontal shallow-water range at an underwater power consumption of 8 Watts or less with up to 4 hydrophone elements. When presented to the offshore inspection market, this new technology will eliminate the requirement for ship-borne inspection. Thus, the size of crew and time spent on boats will be significantly reduced, saving large amounts of money.
