The objectives of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy Program (YESSP) are to help all youth navigate through the labour market and to successfully transition into sustained employment. These objectives are attained by supporting the needs of all youth, especially youth facing barriers to develop skills, knowledge and networks through education, skills development and meaningful work experiences.

Victim Services of Waterloo Region project will address sexual violence through trauma and violence informed programming. The project will enhance access to justice for survivors of sexual assault and create a campaign to raise awareness around cyber-crime. They will also develop a technology safety toolkit to prevent harmful behaviors.

The project will investigate both the need and possibility for a regional approach to child abuse response in the Metro Vancouver area, as well as the buy-in for a project to operationalize such an approach.

The project will support training to equip practitioners with trauma-informed skills for engaging male survivors and addressing complex behavioural issues rooted in trauma. The training will enhance the effectiveness of restorative justice practices.

A project that will enhance mobile coverage to eight First Nation communities in the province of Manitoba, using 5G technology.

This grant enables a student intern to prepare a research report about what is known about Indigenous fishing practices and experiences on the Fraser Valley in association with Fort Langley National Historic Site, and also prepare a file of maps and historic and contemporary images. The internship will run from April 29 to August 9. This work will contribute to renewed interpretation of Indigenous history at Fort Langley National Historic Site.

This contribution supports the Yukon Residential Schools Missing Children Project (YRSMP) to host and facilitate a gathering of Elders & Survivors to collectively discuss and plan how to commemorate former Indian Residential Schools in the Yukon.
