In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

This 19-month project will honour the lives and legacies of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2S individuals and increase awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals. Project activities will include hosting a gathering to bring together families affected to participate in healing workshops, cultural ceremonies, and to plan commemoration projects in each of the member Nations of North Peace Tribal Council.

Project activities will include: the coordination and support of commemoration initiatives which will include two commemorative round dances, launching three tipi ribbon skirt campaigns, and the creation of a commemorative plaque.

This 16-month project will honour the lives and legacies of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals and increase awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals. Project activities will include: the coordination and support of commemoration initiatives with families affected in the Fort Nelson First Nation. This will include working alongside families to set up monthly gatherings, supporting families to attend the Sisters in Spirit vigil, supporting families to create a memorial to their loved one, building a permanent memorial informed by the families, and holding a feast leading to the unveiling of the memorial.

Project activities will include: coordination and support of commemoration initiatives including workshops to discuss Indigenous women’s safety and increase awareness of MMIWG and male violence against women, healing circles, and the creation of a collaborative art exhibit and guide book to be shared with affected communities.

This 14-month project will honour the lives and legacies of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and LGBTQ2S individuals and increase awareness about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls and LGBTQ2S individuals. Project activities will include: a two-day provincial family gathering in Saskatchewan followed by a one-day traditional powwow. A video, or series of vignettes, will be produced and shared broadly to honour the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.
