Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Development of sample review and progress monitoring modules for ABS.
934330
Automated Biology System (ABS) consists of an Automated Microscope System (AMS) and Biology Educational System (BES). Both AMS and BES are proprietary products developed by Smart Labs. developed and own. BES is presently released to the market for high school biology education under the name "Science ASAP" and functions using the web, as well as on both iOS and Android platforms. The AMS system is in the final validation and testing phases before production to be used for educational/training and also medical sample review and tele-pathology.
In this project, we aim to develop and progress monitoring module for the BES which allows the users to monitor their educational progress and generate reports. AMS system needs a sample review module. This feature allows the system to be used for tele-pathology.

Realtime Viewport Holographic Rendering by Querying Remote Geometric Data Store
932179
The project will undertake the task of determining how to best store geometric content in a cloud based data store and determine how to transmit the least amount of information from the server to minimize the network traffic and to provide the data in a way that the rendering device can render that information with the least amount of computing resources (RAM, CPU, and GPU). The goal is the ability to load large geometric scenes in the cloud and have only the sub-set required to be sent to the local rendering device.
