Operating costs: As part of the Black Entrepreneurship Program (BEP), CDNBCA will expand the Ujamaa Initiative for Black Entrepreneurship (UIBE). It offers English-speaking Black business owners in Quebec access to business readiness training and development support to start, grow and scale their companies.

The objective of the EAF is to support community based projects across Canada that improve accessibility, remove barriers, and enable Canadians with disabilities to participate in and contribute to their community.

The educator resources will highlight
diverse stories and voices on the theme “To
the Moon and Back,” and feature diverse
voices from the Canadian Space Agency,
Indigenous Elders and knowledge keepers from
different Nations speaking of star stories
and the Moon calendar, a student-focused
comic on the Moon and more!

Construct inclusive, universally-designed play park and splash-pad

This 31-month project will support a feminist response and recovery from the current impacts of COVID-19, through systemic change. Women’s Network PEI will achieve this by enhancing collaboration across women’s and feminist organizations in Prince Edward Island on issues related to gender equality. The organization will create a Feminist Activism Committee to identify priority and emergent needs to be addressed collectively, will create an Action Plan that will guide the work of the committee, and will sustain partnerships with stakeholders and decision makers to initiate calls to action.

At the end of the project, the organization will have contributed to addressing systemic barriers by encouraging more equitable and effective sharing of resources, and by increasing networks and collaboration to accelerate systemic change to support women’s equality.

Partners involved in the committee are well known to the organization and represent a variety of groups in Prince Edward Island. This project will bring together self-identified women leaders in nonprofit organizations to work collaboratively to enhance their ability to advocate for systemic change regarding policies and procedures that impact them. Women’s Network PEI will aim to maintain the Feminist Activism Committee beyond the length of the project and build up membership for maximal impact.

This contribution works towards the implementation of the “Spirit of the Lake Speaks” management plan, supporting Mi’kmaq-led engagement activities and specific planning initiatives related to sustainable practices in the Bras d’Or Lakes region and Unama’ki (Cape Breton Island).

The key objective of the ALLESP is to improve the awareness of adult learning, literacy and essential skills among partners, stakeholders and employers and the application and integration of literacy and essential skills into their programs and activities.

Hilap Aulaaniit Qanuq Atayut (The World and its Connections) is an Inuit-driven approach to environmental knowledge production that combines the resources, expertise, and passion of four Inuinnaqtun speaking communities—Cambridge Bay, Kugluktuk, Gjoa Haven and Uluhaktok—to build and apply an environmental lexicon for the Inuinnaqtun language.
