The applicant is seeking funding for a series of policy lab discussions between August and December 2019 in Vancouver, Ottawa, Montreal and Halifax. The discussions will centre on two MINDS policy challenges with participation from members of the public, academics, policy analysts and civil society organizations and will result in a published report, infographics and infographic narratives that will be made available online and briefed to DND/CAF.

The purpose of the program is to provide support to organizations that undertake projects that that contribute to the development and implementation of coastal zone plans, identify restoration priorities, implement projects, and address threats to marine species located on Canada's Coasts. The program would contribute to the mitigation of stressors affecting aquatic habitats and marine life, and would engage Indigenous groups, resource users, and local groups and communities in undertaking planning, restoration, capacity building, monitoring, and reporting activities.

The project aims to improve the capacity of peacekeepers through large-scale e-learning programs. These self-paced e-learning courses are delivered at regional and national peacekeeping training centers prior to deployment, during deployment, and directly to individual peacekeepers. Project activities build on the previous Canada-funded projects and include: (1) designing and delivering e-learning peacekeeping courses to national and regional peacekeeping training centers throughout Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean and South Asia; (2) delivering specific online training on gender equality, and the role of women in conflict resolution; (3) translating six courses into French and three into Spanish or Arabic; (4) developing two new e-publications and updating the mobile application; and (5) providing the full peacekeeping training curriculum online, including instructions on human rights and international conflict resolution to military personnel, police, and civilians serving in all peacekeeping missions.

The purpose of this CanExport Innovation (CXI) grant agreement is to support organizations and to build on targeted relationships between Canadian companies/researchers and key organizations in other countries to allow them to proceed with formal discussions to initiate collaboration(s) on future international R&D initiatives that could lead to commercialization of Canadian technologies.
