The purpose of this contribution is to prevent violent crime by fostering a sense of belonging and school connectedness among Black and racialized students (ages 6-17) and aims to engage school communities in designing tailored and evidence-based interventions that are meaningful and culturally relevant.

The general objective of the project is to identify and address challenges and barriers faced by at-risk youth aged 12 to 30, including those with repeated contact with the criminal justice system within an Official Language minority community: the English-speaking community of the Gaspé Coast in Québec. To achieve the planned objective, the Committee for Anglophone Social Action (C.A.S.A.) will first complete a needs assessment with youth, families and community stakeholders to better understand youth protective and risk factors as well as service gaps in the community. A youth advisory committee will be formed, empowering young people to co-develop strategies, provide feedback and advocate for their needs. Targeted interventions through a comprehensive wraparound approach will be offered to youth in collaboration with partners.

The project seeks to enhance the security of the community by purchasing and installing of an intrusion alarm system, an access control system, a Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) camera system, a public address system, an intercom system and exterior lighting. The contractor will also provide training on how to use the new security equipment. As a result of this project, the population that uses the facility will feel safer from hate-motivated incidents/crimes.

CyberAIDE, led by Open North, builds cybersecurity resilience for municipalities, Indigenous communities, nonprofits, and essential services through bilingual webinars, structured training, leadership cohorts, and tailored coaching, protecting critical services and sensitive data nationwide..

This project aims to strengthen the cybersecurity resilience of First Nations communities across Canada by equipping them with the knowledge, tools, and capacity to identify risks, protect critical information, and respond effectively to cyber threats. Led by GovernWise Alliance, the initiative will deliver tailored assessments, awareness programs, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven training, and governance frameworks aligned with national and international standards. With a Canada-wide scope, including Ontario, Winnipeg, and other provinces, the project will engage over 70 First Nations already connected through GovernWise while extending services to new communities. Activities such as national workshops, monthly awareness campaigns, and digital toolkits will address immediate needs while building sustainable long-term capacity through mentorship, collaboration, and workforce development. GovernWise Alliance will oversee project management, partnerships, and evaluation to ensure alignment with Canadian cyber strategies and lasting impact.
