Complete engineering study to facilitate development of key tourism infrastructure

This project aims to provide technical assistance and analytics to help implement the reforms identified in the Government of Jordan's five-year Equitable Growth and Job Creation Transformation Matrix, and to provide resources to support an enhanced reform secretariat within the Government. The project works to support the Government of Jordan in implementing its Transformation Matrix to achieve: (1) sound governance and economic management; (2) increased private sector growth and competitiveness; (3) improved labor markets and social safety nets; and (4) improved efficiency and effectiveness in transportation, water, and energy sectors. The project also aims to support concrete reform initiatives such as the introduction of an e-procurement regime, new frameworks for public investment management and public-private partnership, reduced costs of doing business, and a graduation strategy for recipients of the National Assistance Fund – Jordan’s social support mechanism.

This project aims to strengthen the Global Health Security (GHS) community through support for the fledgling Global Health Security Network and the organisation and conduct of the next global health security conference to be held in Sydney, Australia in June 2021.

Acquisition of equipment : The project aims to strengthen the capacities of CITÉ, a technology transfer centre at the Université de Sherbrooke, in applied research and technology transfer in the ecomaterials sector for the benefit of SMEs in various industries.

This project objective is to improve real-time surgical simulator solver performance to allow for equivalent realism and resolution on an affordable mobile device as it is currently possible on full size simulator. The project seeks to achieve this by re-defining a finite element problem to better exploit specialized computing hardware.

Some 2.4 million Canadians live with cardiovascular disease (CVD). Many will die, diagnosed only once irreversible cardiac damage is done, despite passing all cholesterol tests! Combining microfluidic sample preparation and infrared spectroscopy-based metabolic fingerprinting ("barcoding"), the project aims to save those lives by discovering new circulating markers signifying elevated CVD risk.

We will hire a youth to help us provide new communications and marketing services for companies in the Agriculture sector.

The project will hire a Youth Research/Operations Assistant - reporting to the Senior Scientific Director to support research and product development.

The development of complex shape magnets requires to be able to magnetize adequately those magnets in order to maximize their performance. To magnetize complex shape magnets, high-current pulse magnetizer are required. Over the years, Polytechnique Montreal has developed an expertise in the development of high current pulse generator (more than 1 kA in the microsecond and millisecond range), which will be used to developed a custom made magnetizer for complex shape magnets. The specifications of the magnetizer will depend on the magnet properties which will be characterized with tools available in Polytechnique Montreal. This will be used with finite element modeling to anticipate the response of complex-shape magnets and will be used to choose the parameters of the magnetizer. The development of a characterization tool to measure the magnetization of complex-shape magnets will be required. The results will be compared with those obtained by simulation.

The goal of this project is to develop a proof of concept for an innovative air filtration system to remove airborne particles from sensitive environments, and to validate business aspects of this technology such as pricing and market.
