The Client Support and Systems Navigator Pilot Project will provide trauma-informed and client-centred services for survivors of sexual violence, their families, and service providers. It engages with law enforcement to ensure processes for reporting and investigating sexual violence are conducted in a client-centered way. The project will provides ongoing systems navigation and client advocacy for victims to navigate their options for justice and reporting after an assault.

The Collaborative Justice Program in Ottawa is developing referral protocols for sexualized violence cases. The program will provide restorative justice services for post-plea, pre-sentence cases, and explore the possibility of creating a pre-charge process.

The Sexual Assault Response Kaslo will provide coordinated services for local and regional service providers to respond to sexual assault disclosures within 72 hours. The services include trauma-informed information, emotional support, safety planning, transportation to emergency health services, and training for service providers.

This project entails developing several legal information tools in French to assist the Official Language minority community of Nova Scotia gain access to justice in the official language of their choice.

The organization will hire a dedicated victim caseworker to enhance victim participation, provide comprehensive support services, and ensure a more restorative and effective justice process through . face-to-face interactions with victims.

The Ottawa Rape Crisis Centre will implement the “Justice System Navigator” project to provide comprehensive guidance and assistance to ensure clients are well-informed and supported throughout their interactions with the justice system. The Justice System Navigator (JSN) will offer crucial advice, detailed information about various justice processes and personal accompaniment to appointments and/or services such as court dates and meetings with justice system processionals. In addition to direct client support, the JSN will spearhead Public Education initiatives, including hosting webinars and developing informative materials that address common questions and concerns about the justice system.

A Program Coordinator will work with a Mobile Youth Services Team police officer to support youth who are victims of sexual exploitation and assault. The coordinator will connect the youth survivor to resources in the community as needed, including Victim Services for court preparation and support. Online sexual exploitation has increased dramatically in the past ten years, and more so since the start of the Covid 19 pandemic. The rise in housing instability for youth and families has also increased youth vulnerability.

Partners Family Services will develop and implement a Sexual Violence Response Project in rural central Saskatchewan to address the issue of sexual violence. The organization will fill a gap in dedicated services for sexual violence in the area, to improve supports for survivors to access appropriate care and support. The project will provide immediate and long-term assistance to victims and survivors, including rapid response, clinical counselling, and public awareness campaigns.

ManTalk 2.0 is a therapy program for male-identified survivors of sexual abuse. The project will generate educational materials on select topics related to increasing access and reducing barriers for marginalized people. The modules and print resources will be distributed in physical and online formats.

Public Legal Information Association of Newfoundland will expand training on sexual violence and trauma-informed practice for criminal justice professionals. The Journey Project provides legal support to survivors and the focus will include understanding ACEs, developmental trauma, and the needs of children, youth, and families.
