About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

The National Indigenous Court Workers: Indigenous Youth-Centered Justice Project

Through this project, Indigenous Courtwork Programs, in partnership with Ryerson University, will pilot innovative community-driven case coordination processes in five Canadian jurisdictions (British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, Nova Scotia, and Nunavut) with the aim to improve outcomes for Indigenous youth who are dually involved in the child welfare and youth justice systems.

Laying the Foundation for AT Infrastructure in Nova Scotia
The project will consist of 3 initiatives: 1) Nova Scotia's Active Transportation Future is an ArcGIS web app that presents the state of active transportation planning across the province at-a-glance. 2) Roadmaps to AT Plans is a stakeholder engagement program that will meet with municipal staff, band councils, elected officials, community members and groups to identify barriers and next steps to drafting AT plans in 1-2 communities. 3) How to Engage with Public Engagement will develop educational materials that demystify the common transportation planning workflow, set realistic expectations of information available at each stage, and provide curated tools and resources for communicating design ideas visually without needing any prior experience.

Yukon Native Language Centre long-term capacity for digitizing First Nations language materials in the Yukon

Building on funding received from Listen, Hear Our Voices in 2019, this follow-up project will continue digitizing priority materials as identified by nine Yukon First Nations and to work with the five Yukon First Nations that were unable to participate in the initial program to identify and digitize priority recordings of their First Nations languages.
