Laveer plans to develop a heat exchanger tube plugging system to replace a system that is 29 years old. The existing system uses obsolete technology that can no longer be maintained reliably. Welds performed with the system are pressure retaining and separate the reactor coolant from the light water used in the plant steam cycle. As such, the welds are critical to the containment boundary and safety of the plant. Laveer has extensive background in this process and the safety concerns associated with the existing system which positions us to produce a system for this task.

Germany 2+2 – #022 is a collaboration project with Trout GmbH, Fraunhofer Institute for Microengineering and Microsystems IMM, and University of British Columbia to develop NMRplusX.

The NMRplusX project will fuse chemical analysis methods with analytics to produce reaction systems capable of self-optimization/realization. Nanalysis is responsible for NMR instrumentation and commercialization of the end result.

The project proposes to conduct market research and competitive intelligence study for Smart Home products, in particular Smart Light Switches, to define target market segments and product requirements. Results of the proposed project will lay the foundation for new product launch strategy.

Dairy Distillery has developed technology to convert a dairy by-product (milk permeate) into alcohol to produce a vodka-like spirit called Vodkow. The amount milk permeate that is currently used by the Dairy Distillery only represents a fraction the milk permeate available in the industry therefore this project is going to investigate the feasibility of utilizing milk permeate to produce ethanol for a variety of other markets (biofuel, commercial alcohol). The feasibility study will include developing an engineering based cost model and a market intelligence study to determine the viability of the project at a variety of throughputs.

SBC Firemaster and contracted subject matter experts will examine ideas and concepts that will help develop a Technical Feasibility Study for automation of packaging operation.
