P006116001: The aim of this project is to improve the educational attainment levels of Tibetan youth living in Nepal and India to access post-secondary education and improve gainful employment opportunities. Project activities include technical training, mentoring and pilot programs as well as small grants and scholarships targeting girls. Beneficiaries consist of 34 schools with a student enrollment of 4,540 students (2,340 boys and 2,200 girls).

P006476001: This project aims to clear approximately 359,000 square meters of landmine-affected areas in northern Sri-Lanka, in order to allow resettlement and increased security of vulnerable and displaced populations.

Project activities include: 1) clearing landmines from residential areas; 2) repairing infrastructure, such as a water reservoirs and irrigation systems; 3) gender-sensitive employment practices used by the project partner, HALO Trust, including promoting women to supervisory positions in an equitable manner.

Approximately 13,900 people (of which 52% are women and girls) are expected to benefit from the project in the short-term, including over 3,750 long-term internally displaced people who are expected to have increased access to their home areas in the Jaffna, Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts in northern Sri Lanka.

CIDA’s grant to the Canada-IMF Technical Assistance Sub-Account supports technical assistance to developing country governments to build their capacity to address public debt, balance of payments problems, and financial sector crises. Specific areas of technical assistance include public debt management, public expenditure management, and financial sector reform. Activities include diagnostic studies, training courses, workshops, on-line advice and support, and the placement of technical assistance experts and advisors.

Technical assistance is a core activity of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), and accounts for one quarter of its operations budget. IMF technical assistance helps countries design and implement sound macroeconomic policy, which is essential to sustainable economic development and a key element of the response to financial crises. The majority of the Fund’s technical assistance is provided to low- and lower-income countries. By helping individual countries reduce economic weaknesses and vulnerabilities, the Fund’s technical assistance contributes to a more robust and stable global economy.

This project is focused on growing an investor base of accredited investors interested in early stage innovative companies.

The project will build and grow the angel network through outreach and promotion, investment attraction, educational tools and seminars, and creating a reporting and monitoring systems.

The Computer Savvy Courses initiative will increase basic digital literacy skills and knowledge in the Gaspé and surrounding areas.

This project is an advanced innovation program aimed at designing and developing a foundational software platform for the next generation of vehicles, including connected and autonomous vehicles.

The purpose of this contribution is to provide funding to support initiatives under Ontario’s Guns, Gangs and Violence Reduction Strategy (GGVRS). The GGVRS is a coordinated strategy that will deliver province-wide initiatives across the community safety continuum of prevention, intervention, enforcement, justice and rehabilitation.
