Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Unsupervised fraud detection from security cameras
914537
Currently, loss prevention/risk professionals use data to isolate "exceptions' via business intelligence tools that allow them to focus on a particular individual or case where they can consume and watch video. It's a time intensive process to review hours of video to identify suspicious or fraudulent activity. This type of activity can be achieved through the use of AI to identify what would be fraudulent transactions and thus flag suspicious activity for the loss-prevention professional to review. Taking this further, the ability to use motion (or lack thereof) from a camera can help identify patterns of activity that can then be classified and used to provide users with information previously not available.

Unstructured Anomaly Detection
915188
Auditors are becoming more holistic in their risk assessments, and this means they may need to examine evidence from a variety of sources to reduce their risk of failing to identify a material misstatement. Along with structured data, an auditor may be required to determine if irregularities or errors arise from the treatment of transactions as they related to contractual terms and agreements.
This project is to support unstructured data in Ai Auditor to provide a unique advantage and opportunity to create competitive advantage and achieve more complete, economical and scalable audits.
