Grants and Contributions
About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Edge Processing System Development for Oil and Gas Industries
922090
This project will utilize the industrial edge processor and device management software developed in the project titled “Solar Powered Hazardous Locations Gateway” to create a fully integrated control and monitoring system for the oil and gas industry. The result will be an autonomous, cloud connected plunger lift control system that is capable of being expanded to any other remote well site application. It will also enable other companies to add their own programs and hardware modules to expand the system.

Design Online
922599
Design Online is a browser-based application used to design carbide tooling which allows users to log into De Boer Tool servers to modify standard carbide cutting tooling to suit the needs of the user. The application presents a three-dimensional (CAD) VRML file in human readable format through commonly available industry standard web browsers. Design Online eliminates much of the work needed within DeBoer Tool to render customer concepts (verbal description, sketch or detailed drawings) into shop drawings as well as streamlining scheduling and invoicing with computer automation.

YOUTH - Dhanvin Kolhatkar

This project aims at the development of smarter sensors to improve both (a) their reliability and (b) their ability to extract the higher level information required for the deployment of self-driving cars. More specifically, in the context of this project, we intend to develop more competitive radar solutions that will integrate advanced features not available in current radar sensor technology. The introduction of Artificial Intelligence and in particular deep neural networks (DNN), has drastically improved the performance of many sensors such as laser scanners and cameras. Our objective is therefore to develop an embedded solution that will allow radars to produce more accurate information.

OTOMOTO: Automated Engineering Design Document Creator
922804
Heavy industry facility operators, such as oil and gas producers, chemical refiners, pipeline companies, municipal water utilities and electrical power generators, replicate past proven designs and/or develop a repeatable modular designs to save time and money. Creating engineering design documents for a new facility or upgrade, however, still largely remains a costly, manual process of updating the project name and tag numbers across hundreds of datasheets, drawings and other documents. CoreData is developing OTOMOTO, a web application that automates the creation of engineering documents, to dramatically reduce time and cost.

Eventa IoT Platform development
922808
There has been a sharp increase in demand for IoT solutions. The IoT solutions cover a wide range of applications that have quite a bit of overlap with SCADA functionalities. In fact, many of the IoT solutions are heavily relying on the SCADA functionalities.
This project proposes a series of development of IoT components to be added to the EVENTA platform such as an IoT Edge Device/Gateway, Private IoT Cloud server and Public IoT Cloud server.
Upon completion of the proposed project, EVENTA will be well positioned to market as a viable solution to Renewable Energy, Smart Grids, Smart Cities and Smart Buildings.
