The project concerns audiovisual archives that include sound archives and moving images of the first actors and organizations that worked in the Magdalen Islands. By targeting the most fragile collections as a priority, the Centre d'archives régional des Îles will digitize and catalogue these archives in order to facilitate access while preserving their integrity. This project will be followed by an audiovisual commemorative event at the beginning of the second year of the project, marking the 165th anniversary of the post office in the Magdalen Islands and 110 years of the history of the ponchon.

Archival processing and digitization of the documents in the Marcel Sainte-Marie collection. This impressive collection (more than 20.4 linear meters) consists of files documenting many aspects of the life and living environment of the residents of the City of Hull. On the one hand, the project will ensure the preservation of documents in accordance with current archival standards. On the other hand, the project will promote better accessibility of all the documents in the archive for consultation by a wide audience.

The Connexions Archive & Library will expand upon on an existing virtual exhibit funded by DHCP in 2016. In the current project, the organization will digitize and catalogue a large number of documents that broaden the scope of the project to include the geographical areas beyond Toronto’s “Ward 7”, such as Kensington, Parkdale and the Junction. In addition, the project will extend the time period (initially 1970 – 1985) to look further back and forward to the 1990s. This virtual exhibit highlights connections between the materials and images digitized, and the stories they tell about gentrification, urban development, homelessness, access to health care, local organizing and activism.

The project aims at the targeted digitization of historical documents of the Council of the Huron-Wendat Nation, including institutional archives as well as archives of private origin. Digitisation will make it possible to preserve and preserve old and rare documents using digital media. The project will also make available to a greater number of people historical documents that are regularly requested, such as old photographic collections, documents related to reserve maps and plans, lands, etc. The project also makes it possible to involve young Huron-Wendat people in digitization work.

Five partners will offer a symposium for heritage professionals from across Atlantic Canada to share ideas and knowledge about oral history.

The Council of Archives New Brunswick (CANB), in partnership with the Association of Heritage New Brunswick, will host a Roundtable that focuses on how the public (non-archival professionals) use documentary heritage materials. By studying this practice, the Roundtable aims to help heritage organizations better promote their holdings. The organization will include participants representing the Acadian community and host the event in both official languages, with simultaneous translation as required. In addition, CANB will record the event and share it on YouTube and the CANB website.

The Inuit Broadcasting Corporation (IBC) established the Inuit Film Video Archives in 2014-2015. The organization holds a video collection that includes approximately 9,000 hours of Inuit language video capturing cultural, social and political developments of Inuit since the mid-1970s. This project will involve archival activities related to this collection and includes the renewal of archival software, updating database records, migration of records to an asset management system, and renewed training for IBC staff.

This project focuses on digitizing the Lakes District Museum Society's documentary heritage resources, which consist of approximately 3,000 local photographs, negatives and slides dating back to the early 1900s, approximately 7,000 pages of historical documents (journals, typed interviews, etc.), and more than 400 editions of local “heritage” newspapers. The goal is to digitize these items in appropriate file formats, give each an applicable catalogue number, record metadata in each digital file, and prepare descriptions. The organization will then transfer the digital files to the Society's computer systems and to a portable back-up drive that can be stored off-site, to reduce the risk of loss.

In this project, the Revelstoke Museum and Archives will digitize materials from the Accident Report Series of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR) – Revelstoke Division fonds. The organization holds approximately 16 meters of accident reports dating from 1910 to 1935. The collection includes official accident reports and any related correspondence filed by company employees. The reports also include information on injuries and fatalities suffered by CPR employees, passengers, and trespassers. In addition, reports include information on derailments; washouts, snow avalanches and rockslides; engine, car, track or bridge damage; and any related reports. One significant report, dated March 4, 1910, relates to the Rogers Pass Avalanche and offers insight into the largest avalanche incident in Canadian history in terms of loss of life.

The project aims to develop an Internet platform for image research accessible to the general public. The images and data from 23 of the Historical Society's archival holdings will be transferred to new data management and image search software. The descriptions will then be checked, corrected and completed before the new platform is put online. From the 1890s to the 1980s, these images show the region's built heritage, families, personalities, associations, politics and municipal affairs, sport and education.
