About this information
In June 2016, as part of the Open Government Action Plan, the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) committed to increasing the transparency and usefulness of grants and contribution data and subsequently launched the Guidelines on the Reporting of Grants and Contributions Awards, effective April 1, 2018.
The rules and principles governing government grants and contributions are outlined in the Treasury Board Policy on Transfer Payments. Transfer payments are transfers of money, goods, services or assets made from an appropriation to individuals, organizations or other levels of government, without the federal government directly receiving goods or services in return, but which may require the recipient to provide a report or other information subsequent to receiving payment. These expenditures are reported in the Public Accounts of Canada. The major types of transfer payments are grants, contributions and \'other transfer payments\'.
Included in this category, but not to be reported under proactive disclosure of awards, are (1) transfers to other levels of government such as Equalization payments as well as Canada Health and Social Transfer payments. (2) Grants and contributions reallocated or otherwise redistributed by the recipient to third parties; and (3) information that would normally be withheld under the Access to Information Act and the Privacy Act.

Team Grant: TiC - Stream 1 – PHSI solutions for transitions in care gaps

The TiC team grants are expected to:
Produce results that are applicable, adaptable and ready for equitable spread and scale by a health provider through implementation research that is relevant to patients, communities, and decision-makers;
Improve health outcomes, patient experience, effectiveness, and lower the cost of care within two (2) or more of the TiC focus areas through identifying, evaluating and implementing evidence-based and/or effective solutions, including eHealth solutions;
Build novel multi-disciplinary and trans-disciplinary collaborations and partnerships with individuals and organizations in Canada that have interest in transformative research in care transitions by promoting engagement, recognition and respect for health research expertise across an array of health disciplines, research pillars, and industry;
Build and promote relevant transitions in care research capacity, including training and early career development, by supporting teams that actively engage established researchers, early career investigators, trainees, and knowledge-users.

How to improve transitions to and from hospitals and facilities to community based primary health care and community supports?
The spread and scale up of interventions that support population health improvement and reduction of health inequities. This could involve the scale up of successful projects that have worked on a smaller scale such as translating research in elder care in personal care homes.
To engage and evaluate the impact of patients as partners in health system redesign.
Performance management and economic evaluation to measure efficiency and effectiveness
Explore funding mechanisms and payment systems that meet patient needs, reduce barriers to collaboration and endeavour to fund the optimal mix of providers and/or organizations for the complexity of care provided.
Support the development of data and methods to support identification of cost effective programs to inform decisions, planning, resource allocation, program evaluation, and impact assessment. For example, economic evaluation methodologies such as cost effectiveness and return on investment analysis or role of surveillance across the continuum.
Redesign of community care to support continuity of care and reduced health system utilization
Determine how to best optimize service integration and coordination across community primary health care services with special attention to underserved or structurally disadvantaged populations and patients with complex needs. Populations of interest include Indigenous peoples, elderly and again adults, infants and children, new Canadians and individuals living in rural and remote communities.
Develop tools and capabilities to support Manitobans (and their health care providers) better manage their health, wellness and treatment.
Mental Health and Addictions services to support improved outcomes
Explore interprofessional models that integrate health and social services and physical and mental health care to improve coordination along the continuum of services from health promotion to management, treatment and acute care services.
Redesign of mental health and addictions services to support access to mild to moderate mental health services in primary care settings

The purpose of the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research (SRCR) Education and Training Support (SETS) grant is to provide funding to help with the costs of developing and delivering an education and/or training activity (e.g. workshops, webinars, online education, conferences, etc.). The SETS grant contributes to the costs of activities such as workshops, webinars, online education, and conferences that advance understanding of the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans (TCPS) and/or the Tri-Agency Framework: Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR Framework).
The objective of the Secretariat on Responsible Conduct of Research (SRCR) with this Travel Grant is to promote RCR and to provide researchers, faculty, graduate students and institutional administrators responsible for Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) from Canadian institutions with an opportunity to engage and learn more about RCR from an international perspective. As with previous SRCR travel grants, attendees will have the opportunity to learn the state of progress of research integrity across the globe, discuss RCR challenges and emerging topics, and exchange ideas and experience with national and institutional leaders, policy makers, research funders, professional societies, journal editors, publishers, researchers, educators, administrators, and students. Attendees will also be in a position to disseminate the knowledge and best practices gathered during the conference to enhance their institutions’ understanding of RCR and build on their existing RCR curriculum.
