Having been approved for the Build in Canada Innovation Program (BCIP), we are ramping up towards higher production. This requires improving the repeatability and speed of the manufacturing. The student will research and implement new manufacturing procedures.

Bonsai Beta is a startup medical device company located in Edmonton, AB. We have developed a consumer medical device to help maintain the health of our eyes due to the growing use of digital devices and the increased prevalence of dry eye. Our device stemmed from a routine visit to an optometrist when a member of the founding team was diagnosed with Meibomian Gland Dysfunction (MGD), the leading cause of dry eye that affects over 30 million people in North America.

Scientific assessment of the Instant Pot Max 15 PSI Pressure Cook on its suitability for canning applications to produce safely canned foods of both low and high acid groups.This project involves the establishment of canning process schedules for selected food products. Outcomes would enable the company to set up recommendations on temperature and time and related packing methods for selected food types. Ultimately, these recommendations will be used in authorized canning recipes.

The goal of the project is twofold - to develop an interactive deployment tool that allows Fire and EMS planners to instantly evaluate changes to their vehicle and personnel placement; and, to automate as much of the time-consuming, error-prone data preparation process. The deployment tool is being requested by our existing clients and will address a significant pain point by reducing their multi-week process to something that takes seconds. This will both improve the stickiness of our existing relationships and expand the marketing potential of our solution, leading to more clients. The second part of the project attempts to reduce the time and risk of data processing from 90 days to under 30, tripling our onboarding capacity.

This project will expand PanTHERA’s manufacturing capabilities to incorporate the patented IRI technology into pre-formulated cryopreservation solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology research tools markets. It will allow the company to manufacture its first batch of products for customer evaluation, create the required quality systems for manufacturing specifications, refine current cost-of-goods models for commercial production and develop quality systems to manage customer requirements.

The project will focus on the research and development of web application features for the company's software platform to add functionality specific for large clients such as Health Management Organizations, Health Organisations and group practices.

This project focuses on extension of capabilities of company's software platform in collection and analysis of patient reported outcome measures and.improving its accessibility and usability for enterprise level customers.

We will be looking to expand to the US for the first time. We will be attending trade shows, business travel to meet with potential clients and marketing material.
