The Canada Graduate Scholarships-Master’s (CGS M) Program helps develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel by supporting students who demonstrate a high standard of achievement in undergraduate and early graduate studies.

The objective of the CIHR Strategic Master’s Award program is to help develop research skills and assist in the training of highly qualified personnel (HQP) by supporting students who demonstrate potential in undergraduate and early graduate studies whose applications are relevant to any of the research areas

The Operating Grants competition is the principal means by which CRS fulfills its mission to support
fundamental, early translational and environment-cancer research on all types of cancer.

The specific objectives of this funding opportunity are to:

• Enable researchers to rapidly generate interdisciplinary, high-quality and real-time evidence that can enhance Canada’s response related to the current outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1);
• Support cross-sectoral and interdisciplinary research collaborations that can support One Health* approaches to sustainably prevent, prepare for, and respond to the current outbreaks of highly pathogenic avian influenza A(H5N1);
• Support rapid mobilization of evidence to support knowledge users including policy-makers, clinicians, public health organizations, animal health professionals, representatives from agricultural sectors, wildlife conservation organizations, and local communities, including Indigenous communities, where relevant.

The CRS Doctoral Research Award (DRA) supports growth and innovation in the next generation of diverse cancer researchers across Canada at the Doctoral level.

The Health System Impact Fellowship objectives are to:
• Support impact-oriented career paths and elevate the career readiness of doctoral trainees and post-doctoral researchers studying health services and policy research (HSPR) or related fields by supporting embedded research opportunities within health system organizations (e.g., public, private for-profit, not-for-profit, and Indigenous health organizations) outside of the traditional university environment, with enriched competency development (e.g., leadership, project management) and opportunities for mentorship and networking.
• Expand and enrich the traditional doctoral and post-doctoral training environment by engaging health system organizations in preparing a cadre of emerging leaders, inclusive of those who have historically faced barriers in the research ecosystem, including, but not limited to, those marginalized by gender, Indigenous Peoples, communities impacted by racism, persons with disabilities, and members of 2SLGBTQI+ communities, for impact-oriented careers in academic and health system organizations; and
• Provide health system organizations with direct opportunities to realize and harness the benefits that research-trained individuals can bring to such organizations for rapid learning, improvement and evidence-informed decision-making that will advance the Quadruple Aim and health equity.
