The objective of this project is to fund the OECD to develop, identify, and select an appropriate set of agri-environmental indicators at the country and farm levels suitable for productivity and sustainability assessments and analyze how they can best be combined for jointly measuring productivity and sustainability performance for country benchmarking and policy evaluation.

The objective of this project is to fund experts from 19 member countries will collect, communicate and advance the knowledge of anaerobic digestion (AD) systems and their applications. AD systems will be discussed in the context of circular economy processes and environmental improvements, decarbonisation of energy systems, agriculture, food processing and other waste management.

The objective of this project is to provide Canada’s contribution to the ongoing operations of the Agricultural Market Information Systems (AMIS) with other G20 countries. They are also part of the response to the G20 Agricultural Ministers commitment in their final communique of November 22, 2020 in Riyadh Saudi Arabia, where member countries were encouraged to provide voluntary financial contributions to AMIS in order to ensure continued, and possibly enhanced, operations.

The objective of this project is to fund the update of the Agricultural Market Information Systems (AMIS) Policy Database, which combines trade and domestic policy information and whose design allows for comparisons across commodities, across policies and across the AMIS countries. It allows for tracking of the evolution of a specific policy over time. The online tool in its current format can no longer be updated and proposed funding would assist in this undertaking.

The objective of this project is to fund capacity-building projects aimed at developing and implementing science-based regulatory systems compliant with the Sanitary and Phytosanitary measures Agreement, as well as standards, and decision-making processes that are aligned with international norms.

The objective of this project is to fund the use of novel techniques, developed by scientists at CIMMYT, to screen 25 varieties of Canadian wheat for the expression of biological nitrification inhibition (BNI). The goal is to identify lines that express BNI so that these can be used in the creation of new varieties of Canadian wheat that can naturally inhibit nitrification; improving nitrogen use efficiency and reducing nitrogen lost to the surrounding environment through the leaching of nitrate and the gaseous losses of NO, N2O and N2.

The objective of this project is fund the use of transcriptome sequencing to develop resources to identify genes and advance tools to mine DNA sequences of wild Solanum species, landraces and cultivars in the Centro International de la Papa genebank for genetic variation associated with improving traits related to sustainable development goals.

The objective of this project is that funding will support functioning of the Group on Earth Observations Global Agricultural Monitoring (GEOGLAM) office and international capacity building under JECAM. By building upon these investments, this project will promote the leadership of AAFC in global agricultural monitoring research; strengthen the implementation of the GEOGLAM system for global crop monitoring to support stable commodity markets and food security early warning; establish a set of Essential Agricultural Variables (EAV’s) to guide the generation of quantified agricultural metrics to support SDGs and climate change mitigation and adaptation; support best practices and capacity development; and, lead to an operationalized capacity to enable relevant, detailed, near real time information for enhanced decision making and delivery of policy and programs.

The objective of this project is to provide Canada's contribution to the Agricultural Market Information System.
