The Project will support development of intellectual property capacity within the Firm.

This project will develop a novel simulation tool for understanding shocks to the maritime supply chain in Canada. The project will evaluate past disruptions and how they impacted vessel traffic and use these insights to generate a novel model for anticipating changes to future events. A maritime network derived from previous positional reports of vessels at global scale will be used to visualize and understand changes in port calls, schedules, and overall volume at a local and aggregate level. A user interface will be developed to operate and generate insights from the model when deployed on live vessel tracking data, as part of the OCIANA platform.

The project consists in setting up the relevant information bases so as to be able to deploy an order tracking platform at customer sites. The project will enable us to optimize equipment and production.

Vive Crop Protection is a Canadian precision chemistry company which currently sells crop protection products primarily into the large US agricultural market. Vive recently gained Canadian regulatory approval for its core technology and plans on expanding into Canada. This project will evaluate the Canadian market potential of Vive’s current commercial products and product pipeline.

Addition of new technical youth to capacity as the firm develops predictive maintenance model.

PledgX is a solution provider for the construction sector, specifically for stakeholders who assess the risk of contractors in order to provide them with financial services. This project will allow PledgX to develop its solution further and offer additional services to these stakeholders.

Advancements in medical imaging, especially MRI, have been significantly hampered by the lengthy processing times required by traditional imaging pipelines. The introduction of deep learning technologies offers a promising solution, this project aims to integrate, evaluate, and, if necessary, adapt these innovative tools to boost efficiency, cut computational demands, and enable the provision of high-quality imaging features within a reasonable timeframe.

Over the past 2-3 years, Inertia has increasingly been approached to design medical, diagnostic, and alternative energy devices which incorporate complex fluid handling systems. Pumps, valves, hoses, manifolds, control systems, etc.
The design of these systems has been quite manual in that component spec sheets, manually built spreadsheets have been used for design. While these methods have been suitable for design, system optimization has been severely limited as the "software" (ie spreadsheets) is not up to the task to perform complex simulations or design of experiments.
Inertia seeks to level up its expertise, service, and know-how by implementing system-level design and simulation tools, specifically for fluid systems.

The company will perform a pilot demonstration of the Model V period care dispensers in public washrooms with 3 BC-based partner organizations.
